Apuk Graduates’ Congress Sets Timeline to establish Research Center Plan in Juba
The newly elected leadership of the Apuk Graduates’ Congress (AGC), led by Chairman Joseph Kuot Anau, has announced plans to establish a Computer and Research Center in Juba for the first time ever.
Addressing the media shortly after the meeting, the Secretary for Information, Mr. Khalifa Chan Baak Nyang, together with the Secretary General, Mrs. Alek Mayom announced the following key resolutions adopted by the EXCOM:
1. Set Vision and Mission Statements to provide strategic direction for the new leadership.
2. Open SSP and USD bank accounts with Afriland First Bank South Sudan to ensure proper, transparent, and accountable management of AGC funds.
3. Develop a Three-Year Strategic Work Plan to guide AGC programs, projects, and institutional priorities.
4. Undertake consultative engagements with Apuk elders, AGC founders, professionals, and other relevant stakeholders.
5. Noted the ongoing development of the official AGC website, which, upon launch, will facilitate online registration and the creation of a comprehensive database of Apuk graduates.
6. Constituted committees to facilitate implementation of the foregoing priorities:
A) AGC Computer and Research Center Technical Committee to assess strategic locations, equipment, and operational requirements and prepare a comprehensive technical and cost proposal.
B) AGC Resource Mobilisation Committee to organize a fundraising function to establish the Center.
C) AGC Constitutional Review Committee to review the existing Constitution and recommend appropriate amendments in accordance with the prescribed constitutional procedures.
Note: Both Technical and Resource Mobilisation Committees shall complete their respective assignments and submit their recommendations within a period not exceeding one month.
The administrative order for constituting these committees shall be soon announced.
