Tonj East Football Team, under the leadership of President Majok Chol Dior, has confirmed and appointed Mam Agoth as the new head coach in Juba.

The announcement comes following the recent resignation of the former head coach and Agoth was appointed as acting coach until his confirmation.

Agoth is experienced professional footballer with skills in coaching, strategic leadership and sports management.

Twic’s playing in WSPT Semi-Final ‘unknown’ amid jersey dispute

The fate of today’s highly anticipated semi-final between Twic Mayardit and Tonj South at Buluk Playground hangs in the balance, as Twic remains silent over whether they will participate in the clash.

At the heart of the standoff is a controversial jersey branding “FC” (Football Club) instead of “FT” (Football Team). While the players have pleaded with their management and fans to compromise for the sake of peace and unity, there has been no official response.

Calls for compromise have even extended beyond Twic itself. Five counties from Warrap; Tonj North, Tonj East, Tonj South, Gogrial East, and Gogrial West have urged Twic to put the disagreement aside and play, noting that other teams have already adapted to the new uniform branding. Still, no word has come from Twic’s camp.

If Twic refuses to show up, Tonj South could qualify for the WSPT finals by default, a scenario many fans say would rob the tournament of one of its most anticipated showdowns.

All eyes are now on the Twic Mayardit Football Team’s management and fans, Warrap State, and the sports family waits for their final say.

US 🇺🇸 REJECTS SOUTH SUDAN’S APPEAL TO LIFT SANCTIONS ON BOL MEL

The U.S. government has rejected an appeal from South Sudan to lift sanctions on Vice President Dr Benjamin Bol Mel. According to Politico a US based Newspaper, Juba offered to accept American deportees individuals deemed undesirable in the U.S. in return for the Mel’s sanctions to be removed

The Trump administration turned down the proposal, signaling Washington’s continued hardline stance on individuals accused of enabling corruption and undermining peace efforts in South Sudan.

Additionally, the South Sudanese government is said to have requested U.S. backing of prosecuting Vice President Riek Machar, who is under house arrest. That request was also declined.

Bol Mel, who is the current First Vice President of South Sudan was sanctioned by the U.S. Treasury Department for allegedly using his influence to enrich himself and obstruct reforms critical to South Sudan’s recovery and development
