Good evening our students and those wanting to be part of us this coming Saturday. We would like to update you that we shall be having our third class on Saturday afternoon from 2:00-3:30pm. Venue will be communicated tomorrow afternoon. Please come with your friends who are willing to learn more about community Journalism.

Last week, we learned what community Journalism is, and the roles of a community Journalists.

This Saturday, we shall be learning another important lessons.

- Hate speech/tribal insults

- political bias and false reporting for money

- lack of training (GMA-T is now helping trained those interested in community journalism
- Insecurity
- Low literacy levels
- financial challenges
- Limited training
- Lack of equipment and many other challenges.

To be part of this great learning initiative, you need to consider the following before you come.

1. Registration fees: 50,000 ssp. You will pay in INSTALLMENT BASIS (First payment - 30,000 ssp and the last payment 20,000 ssp)

2. Filling of registration must be done on your first day

3. Must be willing to attend all the sessions at least 90% of the lessons. There will be practical exercises to help you learn and at the end you will be graduated and awarded certificate of completion.

What is Community Journalism?

Community Journalism is a type of Journalism that focuses on the local people, with their issues and helping find the local solutions to their issues.

Example, the water shortages, cattle diseases, cattle raiding, and lack of good infrastructures.

Those are the local issues facing local people. Same local Community can find solutions to these issues if Good Journalism is practiced.

What does the Community Journalism do?

Let us see if our students can remember what the roles of community journalist are.

Good evening, morning and afternoon depending on your timing in your location. Today, we had our second day of Community Journalism at Royale Primary school in Tonj. We had good attendance and gave us encouragement to continue raising a generation of informed, disciplined and ethical community journalists.

Today, we looked at understanding community Journalism and the roles of community journalist. It was an interactive session with our learners.

Let's meet at Royal Progressive Academy, secondary school section where we will be doing our classes.
