*"The Day I Tried to Babysit My Nephew"*
So, my sister called me one day and said, “Hey, can you babysit your nephew for a few hours? I’ll be back by 8.” Now, I love my nephew—he’s 5 years old, full of energy, and cute enough to get away with almost anything. I thought, “How hard can this be? It’s just one kid. Piece of cake.” Spoiler: it was NOT a piece of cake. It was chaos. 🍼😂
The moment my sister left, my nephew looked at me with a mischievous grin and said, “Let’s play!” I said, “Sure, what do you want to play?” He yelled, “TAG!” and immediately slapped my arm and ran off. I wasn’t ready. I was still holding my coffee. But there I was, chasing a tiny human around the house like my life depended on it. This kid was fast. I was out of breath after five minutes. Meanwhile, he was laughing like a maniac. 🏃♂️🤣
Then, he decided it was time for snacks. Easy enough, right? I asked, “What do you want to eat?” He said, “Mac and cheese!” Cool. I can handle that. I boiled the water, added the noodles, and turned around for one second—ONE SECOND. When I looked back, he was on the counter, trying to eat shredded cheese straight out of the bag. I yelled, “Get down!” and he just said, “But I’m helping!” Helping? Sir, you’re five. Get off the counter before I have to explain this to your mom. 🧀😂
After snack time, I thought we could watch a movie to calm things down. I put on a kids’ show, thinking he’d sit quietly for at least 30 minutes. Nope. Five minutes in, he was jumping on the couch, pretending to be a superhero. He yelled, “I’m Spider-Man!” and tried to climb the curtains. I was like, “Spider-Man pays rent! Get down!” 🕷️🤣
Then came the bathroom situation. He said, “I need to pee,” so I told him to go ahead. A minute later, I heard water splashing. I ran in and found him trying to “wash his hands”… except the sink was overflowing, and the floor looked like a kiddie pool. I asked, “What happened?!” He shrugged and said, “The water wanted to come out.”
