President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has been declared the winner of Uganda’s 2026 presidential election following the conclusion of nationwide polls.

The long-standing leader recorded a landslide victory over his rival, Bobi Wine, extending his rule as head of state. By the end of his current term in 2031, Museveni will have spent 45 years in power, having led Uganda since 1986.
