Under the Theme: "Empowering Graduates for the Betterment of Community"

Mali 🇲🇱, Burkina Faso 🇧🇫, and Niger 🇳🇪 have announced the launch of the Alliance of Sahel States (AES) passport.

The AES passports will be in circulation on the 29th January 2025.

The old ECOWAS passports will remain valid until their expiration dates.

Citizens of the AES confederation who hold ECOWAS passports may exchange them for new AES passports.

The three Sahel nations are also collaborating on a 5,000-strong military unit to fight jihadists in the region.

Mali 🇲🇱, Burkina Faso 🇧🇫, and Nigeria announced their withdrawal from the ECOWAS, which will be officially completed on January 29 2025.

Little Ali Adam receives $200 donation from well-wishers in Australia

Ali Adam, the young shoe shiner whose heartwarming video went viral on social media last week, has received a $200 donation from well-wishers in Australia. The funds, donated through Australia-based South Sudanese philanthropist Manyang Malet, will go toward buying shoes and clothes for the boy.

Manyang, founder of the Manyang Disability Foundation, shared his gratitude, saying: “Dear donors, friends, and family members. Today I sent $200 USD, equivalent to $351 AUD, to buy clothes and shoes for Ali. Thank you all for your support toward Manyang Disability Foundation.”

In addition, a school owner in Juba has pledged to enroll Ali in school and sponsor his education all the way to university.

Ali’s first viral video was shared by TikToker Mr. TB, who found the smiling, barefoot boy on his way home from work. When asked about his job, Ali cheerfully revealed that he works at Suk Libya in Munuki as a shoe shiner.

The boy, believed to be around 7 or 8 years old, walks barefoot daily from Long’e, near Hai Referendum, to Suk Libya to support his mother and siblings. His mother, a refugee from Sudan’s Nuba Mountains, fled to Juba six months ago to escape the war in Sudan.
