Title: Report on the Torit Progressive Farmers' Meeting with Vice President Josephine

On August 7-8, 2025, a significant meeting occurred between two farmers' groups from Torit and Vice President Josephine, alongside service cluster representatives and MPs. The meeting aimed to discuss farmers' challenges and find solutions to enhance their livelihoods.

- Farmers' Cooperative A and B, Rev. Romano Oguma, Angalafa Sunlight, Vice President Josephine, and officials, including Hon. Lagus

The pastors also visited the area MP, Hon. Joyce Ichaa, to offer prayers and support.

Discussing Points:

1. Challenges:
- Lack of modern farming equipment
- Inadequate irrigation
- Limited access to credit
- Poor storage facilities lead to post-harvest losses
- Insufficient training and market access

2. Proposed Solutions:
- Collaborate with the private sector for affordable equipment
- Develop irrigation systems
- Establish credit facilities for small-scale farmers
- Improve storage facilities
- Organize training on modern practices
- Facilitate market access for produce

Commitments:
- The Ministry of Agriculture will work with the private sector for subsidies.
- The Ministry of Infrastructure will focus on irrigation development.

Conclusion:
Vice President Josephine concluded the meeting by inviting Rev. Romano and Angalafa Sunlight to train her staff, quoting former President Omar of Sudan: "We eat what we produce and wear what we manufacture." The meeting ended with the VP needing the two pastors to come and over training to her staff on Agricultural activities and self-sustaining

A Catholic priest in Kenya has been reported dead after being unconscious in a hotel where he had checked in with his girlfriend in Murang'a County.

According to a police report, Fr. Joseph Kariuki Wanjiku, 43, checked into the hotel on Friday night accompanied by a 32-year-old female.

Over weekend, the lady is said to have notified the hotel's management that priest was getting dizzy and unconscious, which prompted a visit to a nearby hospital.

Citizens raise concerns over petrol smell in Aquana bottled water

South Sudanese netizens have taken to social media to voice their dissatisfaction with the taste and smell of Aquana bottled water, a popular brand in Juba. Numerous complaints have surfaced, with some users likening the odor to that of petrol.

"I thought it was just me, but Aquana Water these days has a taste/smell of petrol," posted one concerned individual. Others chimed in, stating that both Aquana and Cannan water have consistently had a petrol-like scent.

Efforts to obtain a statement from Aquana management were met with disappointment, as they could not be reached for comment.

"I have been experiencing such a situation," expressed another online user. "I'm always complaining about it, but nobody gets it!!!!"

In the midst of the complaints, there is relief that the issue has been acknowledged. "At least somebody broke the silence," commented a social media user, highlighting the importance of addressing this matter.
