Bor Community Youth Association in Bor

Today, in the evening hours in Tibek Suburb of Bor Town, Murle bandits raided more than 1,000 head of cattle in the grazing field. The cattle include some that were kept in the houses (Luak) and some from the near by cattle camp in the Tibek.
The cattle taken from homes belong to the following individuals:

*2. Lual Angeth Deng-Tiel*
*3. Kok Awan Mam*
*4. Mayom Achiekuch*
*5. Maker Kur Makech*
*6. Angok Awar Madol*
*7. Bol Angok Madol*
*8. Ghai Lejum* *Deng-Tiel*
The names of those whose cattle were taken from the cattle camp are yet to be identified.
We, the Bor Community Youth Association in Bor, urgently call upon the Government of Jonglei State and the leadership of the Chief of Defence Forces, Gen. Dr. Paul Nang, to take immediate and decisive action. This incident occurred under the full presence of SSPDF, national security forces, and Police forces and failure to retrieve the stolen cattle would send a troubling message to our citizens and communities.
General, we strongly believe this incident happened because the Murle bandits are taking advantage of the allege disarmament effort, assuming there will be no pursuit or resistance. We urge you to demonstrate the strength and resolve of the Government of South Sudan by deploying forces to recover the stolen cattle without delay. Your swift intervention will restore public trust and affirm the government’s commitment to protecting its people and their property.
This statement is issued to address today’s urgent situation. A formal letter of condemnation will follow tomorrow in an official document.
