Press statement

SPLM-IO Northern Bahr El Ghazal State, office of the chairperson would like to update the general public regarding today's welcoming of the state governor, Mr. Tong Akeen Ngor.

As witnessed by all of us today, we have seen how happily the governor was as being received and welcomed by members of his SPLM-IG members as well as their supporters. His home welcoming witnessed no intimidation or any other forms of harrasment whatsoever as compared to what happened during the SPLM-IO's launching of the state Secretariat office last month.

Our members and more specifically our constitutional post holders were intimidated, humiliated and even arrested. Among them was the chairperson of the Anti- Corruption Commission, Honorable Anei Rok Akuei and many other supporters including the boda boda riders by security organs such as police, national security personnel and the soldiers.

Therefore, all these forms of mistreatments to our our members do not reflect to the aims and objectives of the government of national unity and revitalized peace agreement in the country.

This has left us doubting if the current governor is representing the whole state of Northern Bhar El Ghazal or just taking side. The same kind of treatment bestowed upon him is the same way we want to be treated but not to be harassed by using the security apparatus to intimidate us in the state and suspend all our political activities.

In conclusion, we urge the government of national unity and the state government to respect and protect the revitalized peace agreement by avoiding threats and harrasments to our members.

SPLM (IO)in Northern Bhar El Ghazal State Aweil headed by honourable Aweng Ibrahim Akoon, SPLM (IO) chair person in Northern Bhar El Ghazal State.

Would like to inform the public that, there will be an official lunching of the SPLM (IO) Secretariat office in Northern Bhar El Ghazal State Aweil.

And the lunching will be officially on date 18/11/2022, Friday.

Therefore all the stake holders in the agreement, SSOA, OPP, SPLM IG,(NGOS), civil societies organizations, women, youths, faith base groups, children, are all officially invited to attend this colorful lunching.

And the event will be officially share by the guest of honor,Cde Dr Riak Machar Teny, chair man of the SPLM (IO)in the republic of south sudan.
