Security Alert on Bor- Juba highway ⚠️ πŸ“’
A number of cars felt into an ambush a few minutes ago on the bridge at the vicinity of Mogiri town. One car veered off the road and could be seen in the field, and passengers got scattered into the nearby bushes. The other car was shot at, but people were safe. The driver manager to drive through the ambush.
A lorry was also attacked, but the driver was safe.
The people who witnessed the incident describe a large number of people on both sides of the highway.
Please, if you would be using the road in the next 48 hours, try to move in a convoy.
The highway patrol has managed to es**rt a number of vehicles that gather at the bridge roadblock to the aerial, and we are out of danger zone.

"CHUEIKEER PAYAM UNITES FOR PEACE AND JUSTICE THROUGH COMMUNITY DIALOGUE"

The Transitional Committee, appointed by H.E Dr. Riek G*i Kok, Governor of Jonglei State led by Hon. Diing Akol Diing, Advisor to the Governor, as the chair, Hon. Simon Hoth Duol, Minister of Local Government, serving as Deputy Chair, and Hon. Kur Ayuen Kou, State S.G as Secretary, held a pivotal meeting yesterday with representatives from the Mach Ayeel, Biong, Nyichak, Awan, and Nyara sections of the Abii community to address the resolution of conflict and promote lasting peace in Chueikeer Payam.

The meeting focused on initiating blood compensation for the 39 individuals who lost their lives during the 2017–2018 conflict. In a unified spirit of reconciliation, all parties agreed to proceed with compensation, reaffirming their commitment to healing and lasting peace.

They urged the Committee to facilitate transparent blood compensation, organize inclusive peace dialogues and coordinate the official inauguration of Chueikeer Payam.

A tragic ambush has struck the Juba–Nimule highway this Wednesday afternoon. Gunmen opened fire on a passenger bus traveling from Juba to Nimule, leaving 3 innocent lives lost. Earlier reports suggested more casualties, but officials have now confirmed the deaths.

May their souls rest in peace, and may peace return to our roads.

President Kiir Travels to Ethiopia for Diplomatic Visit

On September 8, 2025, President Salva Kiir Mayardit left Juba for Addis Ababa to strengthen relations between South Sudan and Ethiopia.
