President Salva Kiir sacks Chief Administrator for Greater Pibor Administrative Area (GPAA), Peter Guzulu Maze and reappoints Gola Boyoi to the position. Guzulu (pictured) took over from Boyoi in January this year. Two months later, in March, Guzulu dissolved almost the entire government he inherited from his successor.

BREAKING: President Kiir has appointed Gen. Dau Aturjong Nyuol as Chief of Defence Forces of the South Sudan People's Defence Forces replacing Gen. Dr. Paul Nang Majok according to the Republican decrees read on state-owned TV, SSBC.

Dau in a separate decree was promoted from the rank of Major General to General after the appointment.

Before his appointment, he was Commander of Division 5 in Wau, the capital of Western Bahr El Ghazal State.
