BREAKING: Students at University of Bahr El Ghazal Protest against expired food, damage vehicle of food supplier

Tension as students at the University of Bahr El Ghazal, broke the window of a car belonging to a food supplier in protest against expired food in the hostels this evening.

The students alleged that the food
contained weevils and insects, prompting them to question the food supplier and the situation subsequently escalated to confrontation.

The students who pleaded anonymity narrated “We are not animals. We are educated young people who are here to learn and contribute to our country.

They should treat us with respect and ensure we receive clean food and proper living conditions.
You can't force human beings to eat expired food full of weevils and insects."

A young football fan shot dead today near Jamus Playground (Medan) in Juba City.

Aru Mading Ater was shot and killed today around 3:05 PM by a gunman outside a house near Jamus Playground in the Munuki area after Cueibet beat Tonj South 2-1 in Bahr el Ghazal Counties League (BCL) 2nd Edition.

The management of Bahr el Ghazal Counties League (BCL) immediately called off the match between Tonj East and Awerial for security concerns after the death of Cueibet fan.

According to the sources, a young man was with family members going back home and they stood outside a two-storey house taking pictures. Unfortunately, a security guard who was on top of that two-storey house, fatally shot and killed him on spot.

The man suspected of killing that young man, is a security guard (bodyguard) of a certain government official, the owner of the said two-storey house.

A group of professors from University of Juba were called and sat on a plane.
When the doors closed and the plane is about to take off, all the professors were informed that this plane is made by their students. Then all the professors rush toward the plane doors, trying to escape and survive on their own with exception of One professor remain seated with so much confidence and calmness.
Someone's asked him why you're not escaping the plane.
Professor answer him with confidence, they are our students.

University of Juba Female hostel residents beaten, arrested over alleged hostel fee

Several female students residing in the University of Juba hostels have been arrested, sparking concern and outrage. The exact reasons for the arrests remain unclear, though sources suggest a dispute over unpaid hostel fees.

According to a close source, the university administration demanded immediate payment of hostel fees or that students vacate the premises. Soldiers accompanying the Dean of Student Affairs allegedly resorted to beating the students.

A resident reported that a university representative arrived, demanding 50,000 SSP from each student. The students refused, citing the administration's failure to provide essential services such as water, toilet maintenance, and compound cleanliness. The confrontation escalated when the representative attempted to confiscate a student's mattress, prompting the involvement of the police.

Initial attempts to mediate were thwarted when the police, initially agreeing to leave, returned with reinforcements from Buluk. The Buluk police forcibly entered the locked hostel, firing shots into the air and physically assaulting the students before arresting them.
