After the third round of the Jou-Market cleaning and roads rehabilitation campaign, led by the young street children in Wau, the boys continue their efforts to improve access and movement within the market by:
✅️Filling muddy areas with stones and bricks.
✅️Leveling uneven sections of the roads.
✅️Making the market safer and easier for the public to walk through.
The initiative has received support from members of the general public. However, the State Welfare, department of of WBG has described the activity as child labour and a violation of children’s rights.
