VP Igga Inaugurates the SPLM National political school and Launches SPLM FM Radio.

Tuesday May 7, 2024- South Sudan's Vice President, H.E Dr. James Wani Igga has inaugurated the SPLM National political school and launched an FM Radio for SPLM, in Maridi county of Western Equatoria State.

Dr. Igga, who was addressing the SPLM cadres, says the SPLM National school will bring development to Maridi and western Equatoria State at large. He adds that it will foster unity, cooperation and it will bring a sense of belonging and national pride to the people of South Sudan and at the end, they will be more patriotic

VP Igga underscores the importance of the institute and he's optimistic it will impart leadership skills to the SPLM cadres. He underlines the most important qualities of leadership which includes; visionary, courageous, commitment, selfless, knowledgeable, optimism and patriotism.

The main reason for the political school is not only knowledge but instill into SPLM cadres discipline and love for their people and the country.

VP Igga has eulogized Hon Africano Mande and people of Maridi county for the SPLM FM Radio, the first of its kind in the Republic of South Sudan, and says it will be educative.

Over 35 Coaches completes D License Coaching Course in Yambio

A total of 36 Coaches who have been attending an intensive D License Coaching Course in Yambio of Western Equatoria State have on Tuesday 7th May 2024 completed the course and sat for practical exams.

Speaking at the official closing ceremony held this afternoon, Mr Ramsey Sagamu Martin the Chairperson of the coaches committee under Yambio LFA appreciated the South Sudan Football Association President General Agustino Maduot Parek who visited Yambio and realized the need for the training as a way of improving the level of football in the State. Ramsey further called on the trained coaches to go back to their various teams and implement what they have learnt in this period.

"Make use of the available technology to get more resources so as to enhance your capacities every day, you can get resources on YouTube and Google and ai encourage all of you to do everything possible at your different teams to change the narrative about our football which had lacked behind for so long" Sagamu said.

Coach Oliver Jonathan who spoke on behalf of the trained coaches commended Yambio LFA and SSFA for this special consideration citing that their endurance and commitment in the past days during the training will surely have an impact in changing the shape of football in Western Equatoria State. Coach Oliver called upon SSFA not to relax after this training calling upon their continuous support in technically guiding the trained coaches and bringing more advanced levels of coaching trainings to Yambio.

In April this year, SSFA President General Agustino Maduot Parek visited Yambio LFA and promised to send experts to train football administrators, coaches, referees and stewards which has so far been fulfilled with more than 100 individuals being capacitated across the different departments.

Mboroko bridge construction underway in Maridi County of Western Equatoria State

Africano Mande Foundation (AMF), department of Technical Service (TS) is continuing with construction work of Mboroko bridge in Maridi, Western Equatoria State, AMF's official in Maridi revealed. The bridge links Mboroko Boma and Maridi Boma of Maridi county and lies on a section of a river which usually floods during the rainy season cutting off communities and hindering movement.

AMF head of Technical Service, Mr. John Abdallah is optimistic that the work will be finalized by the end of April this year. However, he points out challenges like the coming rainy season, inadequate skilled labour and lack of enough local materials that may hinder the progress of the work.

Miss Christine Phillip, a local resident, is delighted and says, when completed, the bridge will ease movement of school children.

AMF is a nonpolitical and non governmental organization that aims at giving back opportunities to the community
