Lead Singer Peter “Peetah” Anthony Morgan, aged 46, of the Grammy Award-winning reggae group "Morgan Heritage," has passed away.

He departed last night (Feb 25), as reported by Jamaican media outlets citing a statement issued by the band.
“It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, son, and brother, and lead singer of Morgan Heritage, Peter Anthony Morgan,” the group conveyed.

The cause of death has not been disclosed.

Morgan Heritage, a Jamaican reggae band established in 1994 by the five children of reggae artist Denroy Morgan, namely: Peter "Peetah" Morgan, Una Morgan, Roy "Gramps" Morgan, Nakhamyah "Lukes" Morgan, and Memmalatel "Mr. Mojo" Morgan. The band, renowned for hits like "Don’t Haffi Dread (To Be Rasta)," "Down by the River," "Tell Me How Come," and "She’s Still Loving Me." Their 2015 album "Strictly Roots" clinched the Grammy Award in the Best Reggae Album category in 2016.

Rest in peace, Peetah Morgan. Your musical legacy will endure through the ages. Your passion, talent, and spirit will continue to resonate through the melodies you shared with the world. Though you're gone, you'll never be forgotten. ❤️💛💚 🎶
