I've been trying to put this feeling into words…
Right now in El Salvador, it's not quite the dry season anymore, and not yet the rainy season either. The air is heavy, the heat is intense, and somehow… I love it.

It’s hot. Humid. Like living in a pressure cooker.
But you can feel the rainy season coming...
Like something is building beneath the surface.
The air is charged. Nature is holding its breath.

And I realized today… this season feels like me.
The waiting. The pressure. The transformation.
This is the in-between time.
It’s wild, it’s uncomfortable, but it’s also sacred.

This tiny window, just a few weeks at the end of April into May, is the moment before the bloom.
It’s not glamorous. It’s sticky and raw.
But it’s also the time just before everything shifts.
A seasonal metamorphosis.

This year, it feels personal.
Like I’m about to emerge too.
Not all the way there yet... but close.
Wings still damp. Body still learning.
But I can feel the butterfly moment coming.

Mariposa means butterfly.
I couldn’t have picked a better place for this season of change.

As a native Californian who moved to El Salvador 14 years ago for love (the love of my husband, Carlos, and the love of this beautiful country) I can honestly say that this moment feels incredibly special.

El Salvador didn’t just change my life, it gave me my life.
From the moment I arrived, I felt the warmth, not just of the sun, but of the people. Kind, hardworking, generous, and proud of their roots.

Over the years, I’ve witnessed this country grow, change, and evolve in ways that are nothing short of inspiring. And through it all, my love has only deepened. I loved this country 14 years ago, and I love it today.

Today, El Salvador is safe, welcoming, and more vibrant than ever. There’s no question, this is a must-visit destination for anyone craving real adventure, natural beauty, and human connection.

Not all who wander are lost, some are just looking for coffee ☕🇸🇻

And honestly… I found it.

Lago de Coatepeque is one of those places that makes you pause... like truly pause... and just soak it all in. The stillness of the water, the way the clouds dance over the crater, and the cool morning breeze all make you feel like time moves a little differently here.

There is nothing like waking up at Cardedeu Residence, wrapping your hands around a warm cup of Salvadoran coffee, and gazing out over the lake. It’s peaceful, powerful, and grounding all at once.

Somehow, mornings like this remind me that I’m exactly where I need to be. That every twist, turn, and even the wrong decisions led to this moment... and this moment feels like a blessing.
