Qasr Ibn Wardan – Northern Hama Countryside
Built in the 6th century AD by order of the Byzantine Emperor Justinian I.
The site includes a palace, a church, and military barracks, and it was part of the Byzantine defensive line against the Persians.
What makes it unique is that its mud bricks were mixed with Damask rose petals, making the walls release a rose fragrance when it rains.
Today, it stands as a witness to a rich history in the heart of Hama’s desert.
📌قصر ابن وردان_ريف حماه الشمالي" بُني بالقرن السادس الميلادي بأمر من الإمبراطور البيزنطي جستنيان الأول.
يضم قصر، كنيسة، وثكنات عسكرية، وكان جزء من خط دفاع بيزنطي ضد الفرس.
المميز فيه إنو الطين المعجّن بالورد الجوري خلا جدرانو تفوح برائحة الورد مع المطر.
اليوم بيبقى شاهد على تاريخ عريق وسط بادية حماة.
