Another sombre moment has hit the Kingdom of Eswatini following reports that Princess Lindiwe, the Minister of Home Affairs, has died in a South African hospital after battling cancer.

Reports circulating on Wednesday, 16 September 2026, indicate that the Princess has passed away. Princess Lindiwe had reportedly been receiving medical treatment in South Africa after being diagnosed with cancer. Earlier reports had confirmed that she was receiving treatment at a South African hospital.

Her reported death comes just days after the passing of Chief Justice Bheki Maphalala, who died on 10 September 2026 while receiving medical treatment in South Africa. Maphalala was the first liSwati to serve as Chief Justice of Eswatini.

The two deaths within a short period have cast a sombre mood across the country.

Mtfongwaneni Indvuna Yenkhundla and Team Take Action to Repair Damaged Road

Mtfongwaneni Indvuna Yenkhundla, Themba Nxumalo, and his team were spotted in the early hours of Wednesday morning carrying out road maintenance work along the road connecting Siphula and Mtfongwaneni Inkhundla.

The team was seen fixing and patching damaged sections of the road in an effort to improve the condition of the route, which is regularly used by residents and motorists.

Speaking to a Neighborhood News Network TV journalist, Indvuna Themba Nxumalo said the team could not simply fold their arms while a road they use daily continues to deteriorate.

“We cannot fold our arms when the road we use every day is in such a dilapidated condition. We have to stand up and do something.”

The initiative highlights the willingness of local leadership and community members to take practical action in addressing challenges affecting their daily lives.

MTFONGWANENI LUTSANGO APPRECIATES INDVUNA THEMBA NXUMALO

The Mtfongwaneni Lutsango regiment has expressed its appreciation to Indvuna Yenkhundla Themba Charles Nxumalo for supporting them during their participation at the Trade Fair held at Mavuso Exhibition and Trade Centre.

Indvuna Nxumalo provided transport to and from the event, as well as food for the Lutsango regiment, ensuring that the women were well supported throughout the competition.

The Mtfongwaneni Lutsango participated in the Lutsango Competition, sponsored by Mula Sport in collaboration with Art and Culture, where they proudly finished 8th overall.

The Lutsango members thanked Indvuna Nxumalo for standing behind them and supporting their participation in cultural activities.
