The Turks and Caicos Islands is pleased to welcome expanded airlift from Canada as Porter Airlines launches new non-stop service between Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ) and the Howard Hamilton International Airport in Providenciales (PLS), as well as new direct service from Ottawa International Airport (YOW).
The Toronto route will operate five times weekly beginning November 6th, 2026, while the Ottawa service will operate twice weekly beginning December 17th, 2026, providing Canadian travellers with even greater access to the Caribbean's leading luxury destination.
The addition of Porter Airlines strengthens connectivity from Canada, one of the Turks and Caicos Islands' fastest-growing source markets. The new flights are expected to increase visitor arrivals during the winter season while providing travellers with more choice and convenience when planning their Caribbean vacations. The service forms part of Porter Airlines' expanding winter sun programme and reflects growing demand for the Turks and Caicos Islands among Canadian travellers.
Minister of Tourism, Hon. Zhavargo Jolly, welcomed the announcement, noting that Canada continues to play an increasingly important role in the destination's tourism growth strategy.
“Canada has become one of our most valuable tourism markets, and the addition of Porter Airlines service from both Toronto and Ottawa represents a significant investment in the future of the Turks and Caicos Islands,” the Minister said. “Over the past year, Experience Turks and Caicos has placed a strong emphasis on travel advisor training, tour operator engagement and strategic marketing and public relations initiatives across Canada. We are seeing the results of those efforts through increased awareness, stronger demand and continued growth in visitor arrivals from the market. These new flights provide additional opportunities to build on that momentum and welcome even more Canadian visitors to our shores.”
Minister with Responsibility for Aviation and the Turks and Caicos Islands Airports Authority, Hon. Arlington Musgrove, said the new service underscores the effectiveness of the country's airlift development strategy.
“Enhanced air connectivity remains one of the most important drivers of tourism growth and economic development. We are delighted to welcome Porter Airlines to the Turks and Caicos Islands and to add new direct connections from two important Canadian gateways. This announcement reflects growing confidence in our destination and highlights the value of the Turks and Caicos Islands Airports Authority's ongoing efforts to build strategic relationships with airline partners and identify opportunities for new and expanded service. Increased connectivity benefits not only our tourism industry but the wider economy and the people of these islands,” the Minister said.
The new routes will be operated using Porter Airlines' Embraer E195-E2 aircraft, featuring 132 seats with no middle seats and the airline's signature elevated economy experience.
The Turks and Caicos Islands continues to experience strong demand from Canadian travellers, who are drawn to the destination's award-winning beaches, luxury accommodations, vibrant culinary scene, diverse marine experiences and warm hospitality.
Experience Turks and Caicos and the Turks and Caicos Islands Airports Authority (TCIAA) look forward to working closely with Porter Airlines to support the success of the new routes and further strengthen the destination's presence in the Canadian market.
