💔Today marks exactly one month since you left us, dear Auntie…
We have tried our best to retrieve your body. Through social media engagement, we were able to raise awareness that you were among those trapped in the SkyVill Condo collapse. Your mother, younger sister, your son, your husband, and all your siblings reached out for help from rescue teams near the collapsed building. Chinese rescue teams came. Humanitarian rescue teams came. While there were sincere people who genuinely tried to save lives, there were also some unethical individuals who came just to loot jewelry because the building housed many wealthy people.
With over 800 aftershocks throughout this month, rescue efforts couldn’t be carried out effectively. Due to poor coordination and communication, in some apartments, they found new bodies believed to have survived for 4 to 5 days. But as for us, we couldn’t even retrieve our aunt’s body.
Still, it’s not just because you were our aunt—we feel this way because you were genuinely kind-hearted and always helpful to others. Though we’ve lost you, we heard that even in your final moments, you helped your friends. That makes us feel proud, Auntie.
Today, your son won silver in his school exam. He wanted to tell you about it—he wanted to say, ‘I did it, Mom.’
Missing you dearly and remembering you always….
