Here are ten of the largest known layoffs in 2025, organized by number of job cuts, based on public sources.
Dates and numbers may vary slightly across reports:
1) Microsoft – ~9,000 job cuts announced in July 2025, the company’s largest reduction in over two years, with additional rounds earlier in the year. These affected multiple divisions, including Xbox and management roles.
2) Intel – Up to 15–20% of its global manufacturing workforce laid off, affecting over 10,000 employees, notably 529 in Oregon, 584 in Northern California, and ~110 in Texas.
3) Amazon – Cut over 10,200 jobs in early 2025 (corporate, AWS, devices, Prime Video), continuing a broader trend since 2022 with ~27,000 cuts.
