Good evening dull amigos/amigas. Could I ask for your views on airport travelator/moving walkway etiquette?? I am due to use an airport soon and have been giving this a lot of thought.
My assumption has always been that when using one of these contraptions the idea is to walk along them so you move at a generally faster pace than walking to the side of one.
So you can imagine my surprise when almost every time I use one my progress is ultimately impeded by a group of (perfectly able) people who just stand still - the moving walkway therefore immediately becomes a non moving walkway.
I usually just stand behind them and tut and look mildly annoyed whilst seething inside as those that, perhaps wisely, chose not to use it walk casually past me at a relative sprint compared to my snail like progress.
Sometimes I get so annoyed I even think of saying something mildly outrageous to the human blockages but then never do. But after the event I’ll wake at around 3am thinking of lots of whitty yet barbed comments that I could have gone with.
Is it just me?
