Squid Game is the game of Thrones of Korea. It started so well but ended so bad. The season seemed to be made just to launch the spin-off.
The message, intent and ending is good, but the way it reached its conclusion is a mess. Story telling is bad, it is as if i am listening to a 7 year old kid, ranting about his day at school.
Hwang Dong-Hyuk took a decade to produce the 1st season which has well written characters. So maybe he needed more time? Anyway, even great acting could not compensate to poor writing. It is so messy and rough around the edges. A lot of wasted screen time and undeveloped sub-plot.
It was ok, but not as promising as the first. The only reason to watch it is to have closure since the previous season ended with a cliff hanger. If you want to watch it, lower your expectations. Watch it with your friends, and prepare some snacks so you can stand the boredom.
