During a time when Chrysler offered models ranging from modest sixes to semi-custom eights, the New Yorker convertible represented the company's most exclusive open-top option, with just 1,295 examples produced. The stylish design featured a steeply raked windshield, sharply pointed hood, and integrated grille with bright beltline moldings and chrome parking lights atop the front fenders. Standard equipment included Solar Spark ignition, dual sun visors, windshield wipers, taillights, and hydraulic brakes.

Powered by the reliable Spitfire straight-eight generating 137 horsepower, it delivered excellent performance combined with refinement and comfort comparable to anything Detroit offered at the time. The car rode on a 128-inch wheelbase and originally cost between $1,245 and $1,570.
