It’s time to welcome AMICO by Nanmeebooks AMICO to our BKK Comics Art Festival #4. They are the publishers of the Thai version of The Funeral Concerto, the International Manga award winning book by our special guest Rimui Yumin Rimui 韋蘺若明 thanks to TAICCA Taiwan Creative Content Agency-TAICCA.
Her work will be showcased during the two week exhibition and she will be present at the convention (see dates on the poster). We will interview her on Saturday 25th October followed by a signing at AMICO’s booth. On Sunday 26th of October she will talk about her influences from other Taiwanese comic book artists.

About THE FUNERAL CONCERTO:
A university dropout called Lin Chu-sheng runs away from home to pursue her dream despite her parents' disapproval. She plans to look for an easy job to get by but ends up working for a funeral company. The overwhelming impact of death leads her to give up her willfulness and face her problems again.

The Funeral Concerto depicts relationships realistically. For this affecting graphic novel, comic artist Rimui visited funeral companies and conducted rigorous research on traditional Taiwanese funerary practices. Through the perspectives of funeral directors, she ingeniously explores, in a workplace story, subjects such as humanity, relationships, regrets, and reconciliations. The variety of stories unfolding around the protagonist, Lin Chu-sheng, make The Funeral Concerto ideal for a movie or drama series adaptation.

If you’re looking for an art event on a weekday to chill and draw with other creative people in Bangkok you can join our weekly drawing meetup called MONDAY NIGHT DRAW (because I am a wrestling fan, it sounds like Monday Night RAW). We provide all the art supplies we ask in exchange to bring your energy to create and socialize with people and a donation of your choice to support our studio.

We’re delighted to welcome Ms. Rimui Yumin, Rimui 韋蘺若明 a manga artist from Taiwan as a special guest for our BKK Comics Art Festival #4 (see the dates on the poster).

We are grateful for another collaboration with TAICCA 文化內容策進院 Taiwan Creative Content Agency for helping us bring a very talented storyteller to Thailand.

Her visit is made even more special by the participation of AMICO (by Nanmeebook) AMICO who are the Thai publishers of her work including more books we will shortly post about.

Our bkk UNZINE team will interview her on (Saturday 25th of October - exact time for activities will be announced next week) followed by a book signing of The Funeral Concerto (thai version) published by AMICO (the comic book publishing section of Nanmeebooks). And then on Sunday 26th of October we’ll have another panel where she’ll talk about her influences starting from other Taiwanese comic book artists and beyond.

She is a full-time comic artist who prefers professional stories. She likes human-interest stories that describe everyday lives and is easily moved to tears. She wants to keep drawing comics, even if she remains a little-known artist. Her greatest aspiration is to create works that salvage the soul.

Her published works include A Harmonious Family, The Funeral Concerto, CATzzz Cat Society, and her first graphic novel series on paper consisting of Where are You Going? – Fetters of Memory and Where are You Going? – Farewell My Love.

We’ve been lucky to know talented and wonderful artists such as those who created Smashhh Studio. They’ve been part of our festival from our first year and we love the fact that our collaboration continues. Come catch them at the convention and their work will also be exhibited in the two week exhibition (see the poster for the dates).

BKK Comics Art Festival #4 in October 2025 will take place on the 5th floor of BACC (Bangkok Art and Culture Centre).
