​I headed down to Koh Samui for preseason to watch Port take on one of Thailand’s newest pro sides, Samui United!

​From a crack-of-dawn flight at Suvarnabhumi, catching a surprise warm-up match against Nakhon Si United, playing football golf, to the amazing matchday atmosphere on Saturday—this was one of the best away-day trips yet.

3 of the wildest ways I travelled to watch football in Thailand last season… 🇹🇭⚽️

​1️⃣ Sukhothai (Trailer & Sombreros): Stranded with no taxis, a local couple gave us a ride in their open trailer. The heavens opened, and even sombrero hats couldn't save us from getting soaked to the bone! 🌧️👒

​2️⃣ Ayutthaya (River Cruise): 5 hours up the Chao Phraya with 20 Port fans, cold drinks, music, and an ice cream lady pulling up mid-river on her own boat 🍦🛥️

​3️⃣ League Cup Final (Massive Convoy): 10 Songthaews & over 100 motorbikes riding in unison from PAT Stadium to the final. Port took the cup home 1-0! 🏆🦁💙🧡

How to get to BG Stadium from Asok BTS ⚽️🚌👇

​Heading to a BG Pathum United match from central Bangkok? Here is the full breakdown of the journey:

​1️⃣ Asok BTS ➡️ Khu Khot Station
Hop on the Sukhumvit Line and take the train all the way to the end of the line (Khu Khot).
💰 Cost: 65 Baht

​2️⃣ Khu Khot ➡️ BG Stadium
• Taxi: Grab a cab straight to the stadium (~150 Baht).
• Free Shuttle: If you’re wearing BG gear, head to the nearby PTT gas station for the official free match-day shuttle!
