Please join us in praying for Thailand as we continue the theme of God’s word influencing our lives one more time. This week pray for Thai Christians and people interested to know more about the Bible and Christian faith:
In many places across Thailand, Christians are deepening their understanding of the Bible. Some take online courses at seminaries like Bangkok Bible Seminary, others use resources from the Centre of Leadership Development or Home Bible Seminary, while many simply gather in small groups at church or in homes to learn together. There are seekers too that join Bible study groups, read the Bible together with a Christian friend or sign up for a correspondence course.
- Praise God for every initiative that helps believers or seekers to grow deeper in His word.
- Pray that each initiative—whether formal or informal—bears lasting fruit in the lives of learners.
- Pray for more people to watch the Bible project videos in order to gain a better understanding of the broad picture of each book of the Bible
- Pray that every learner grows in understanding, love, and trust in the Lord, applying what they learn in their own lives, families, and communities.
- Pray for teachers to connect well with students, sharing God’s truth both in lessons and personal conversations.
- Pray for churches and small groups across Thailand to be lights in their communities, as they learn from and live out God’s word together

Please join us in praying for Thailand as we continue the theme of God’s word influencing our lives. This week pray for students in Bible Seminaries or other formal Bible and leadership training:
Thank you, Lord, for the students who are studying at Bible Seminaries in Thailand or in leader development groups. Lord, we pray for wisdom for the teachers to pass on what they have learned from you - both through their formal teaching as well as personal conversations with individual students. As the students study your word and work on assignments, reveal yourself to them, lead them, teach them, and let them grow into future leaders of your church. May they first grow in their relationship with you, and also grow in knowledge and ministry skills. May their lives be a blessing to many as they pass on to others what they have learned from you.

After graduating from BBS four years ago, Pastor M and his wife returned to their home province Nakhon Ratchasima to pastor their home church. Before graduating, Pastor M and I developed a good coaching relationship and decided to continue this.

During the first three years of full-time ministry, a pastor or missionary will often face significant crises or testings. This was true in the case of Pastor M and his wife. They faced financial difficulties, health crises, parenting pain, and serious misunderstanding with opposition from some of their church members. Many times they thought of quitting, but during one coaching session, I asked, "What do you hear God calling you to do?"

Pastor M replied, "To stay and persevere."

Last month as we connected again, it seems that they have come out of the storm and are thriving in ministry. Wounds are being healed, and reconciliation is taking place in the congregation. Praise God!

Bangkok Bible Seminary has allowed me to develop coaching relationships with some students that have continued into their first season in ministry, where they can benefit from ongoing encouragements. May the Lord bless all the new graduates and Thai pastors with good mentors and coaches. --David Chang, Bangkok

Please join us in praying for Thailand as we continue the theme of God’s word influencing our lives. This week pray for children and teachers in Sunday Schools all over Thailand:
In many churches there is Sunday School for children during the time of the sermon. Often there are not only children of church members attending but also friends or neighbours of Christian children.
• Pray for the Sunday School teachers to have good relationships with the children and wisdom in how to teach God’s word in a way that children can understand and connect with
• Pray for the Sunday School teachers to have wisdom in communicating Christ to the children
• Pray for the children to get a good basic understanding and love of God’s word
• Pray that children of Christian parents come to a living faith themselves (not just assuming they are Christians because their parents are)
• Pray for children of non-Christian parents to come to trust and believe in Jesus as well. Pray for opportunities to reach out to their families. May there be whole families finding forgiveness, peace and joy in God.
• Pray that the time the children spend together will help them to build friendships that will last a lifetime. May they stay friends as (young) adults who will share joy and sadness, who will always be there for each other, who will keep on encouraging and challenging each other to stay on God’s way.

Fairways and Faith: A Ministry to Those Who Carry the Clubs

Over 30 years ago I was planting a church in Central Thailand and found that there was a 9-hole golf course nearby run by the Thai military. As a way to interact with Thai in a different social strata from the leprosy patients of the church I was planting, I decided to resurrect my high school golf experience and join in some rounds with the military officers.

Now that I am past 70 years old and get better rates on the course, I decided to start playing golf again with a group of expats here in Chiang Mai. What is unique about playing golf in Thailand is that you always are accompanied by a female caddie. Over 250 such caddies work at the course where I play.

Each 18-hole round that I play takes around four hours, which means that over the past couple of years, I have been able to share the gospel with over 20 caddies. Often my caddie has a tribal background and has never seen a golf course until being hired. My approach is to listen to their background and then seek a common topic on which to introduce the gospel.

I invariably start with creation and then, through a series of cultural illustrations, seek to help them see the need of a Savior. After sharing the basics of Jesus' life and ministry, I often end with a full telling of the events leading up to the crucifixion and resurrection. As the round ends, I have them use their cell phone to scan a QR code which shares the gospel more in depth using their mother tongue.

Once my caddy was using a fan in the stifling heat, and I noticed that it had English writing on it. The fan turned out to be an evangelistic tool used by Cru!

Please pray for those who have heard the gospel, to respond. Pray that missionaries will use creative means to share the precious truths of God's Word. - Larry Dinkins

"We give thanks for Tuesday's Mother’s Day outreach and continue to pray for the seeds of the gospel that were sown in one of the urban poor communities in Bangkok. May these seeds fall on good soil, take root, and grow to produce a bountiful harvest for the Lord through the lives of all who heard the message. We especially lift up the seven mothers and aunts who joined us today.
