Even though there is currently fighting between the Cambodian and Thai armies at the border, I appeal to all Cambodian citizens to maintain their morality and dignity, and to avoid discrimination or any actions that could affect the Royal Thai Embassy in Cambodia, Thai companies, and Thai citizens living in Cambodia.

For Cambodian citizens who are living, working, or studying in Thailand and may be facing pressure from discrimination and wish to return to Cambodia, please come back to our country.

Dr. Seng Sary: Chulalongkorn University has issued a statement condemning discrimination against Cambodian students currently studying at the university.

As a former student and senior alumnus of Chulalongkorn University, who experienced discrimination and insults from some Thai students during the incident of the Thai Embassy burning in Phnom Penh in 2003, I would like to share the following experiences:

1. Maintain regular contact with your supervising teachers or advisors if you feel you are experiencing discrimination, insults, or provocation from Thai students.

2. Reduce night outings or traveling far from the university area.

3. Find trustworthy Cambodian or Thai friends when traveling; do not walk alone.

4. Contact the study abroad office for advice on safety mechanisms or for emergency contact numbers.

5. Monitor current events regularly and reduce posting on social media related to the ongoing conflict.

I wish all Cambodian students and workers currently studying and working in Thailand safety!
