As a public broadcaster, Thai PBS has a distinctive place in the Thai media industry. Its code of ethics insures that Thai PBS carry out its mission with full accountability and integrity as well as respects for the rights of others. All personnel of Thai PBS are obliged to strictly abide by its code of ethics that governs program production and program contents. The process of designing the code of ethics was inclusive, taking into account opinions and suggestions from representatives of Thai PBS employees, program producers, the Audience Council and experts in the field of mass communications. Thai PBS has a sub-committee to oversee conduct of employees at all levels and to monitor program and news contents to make sure that they are in compliance with the code of ethics. The committee also investigates complaints about breaches of the code of ethics from Thai PBS audiences.

July 15, 2025: Cambodia’s Hun Sen is having the Shinawatras against the ropes.

No, sorry, he is not. He is kicking them when they are down.

The strongman’s ongoing rapid fire was not necessary, but his latest claims _ that former prime minister Thaksin had provided Cambodia with some confidential information concerning moves of the Thai Cabinet _ were worth investigating anyway.

Four police officers and four para-military rangers were slightly injured in separate roadside IED explosions in Narathiwat and Yala provinces today.

In the first incident, a special police unit was on its way to join a para-military ranger unit, to provide protection to villagers in Ban Nam Hom, Dusongyo sub-district in Narathiwat, when their pickup truck was struck by the blast from an IED.

The Supreme Court’s Criminal Division for Political Office Holders questioned six Corrections Department officials today, during its fourth day of hearings in the case related to former prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra’s questionable stay at the Police General Hospital instead of behind bars.

The officials were Sahakarn Petnarin, the incumbent department chief, Sitthi Sutheewong, the deputy chief and spokesman of the department, Charn Wachiradet, the deputy chief, and Natthee Thongplad, the former warden of Bangkok Remand Prison, where Thaksin was supposed to serve his sentence.

Chaos broke out at Ta Muen Thom Temple in Surin province today, following a brief confrontation between Thai and Cambodian troops.

Tourists were evacuated and a temporary ban has been placed on new visits to the premises.

Witnesses said the situation escalated after a Cambodian berated Thai soldiers stationed there, accusing them of encroaching on Cambodian territory.

The woman allegedly at the centre of s*x scandals, in which more than 20 senior monks are implicated, was arrested today, at her luxury residence in Nonthaburi, on charges of money laundering, receiving stolen items and abetting the abuse of authority by officials.

The arrest of Wilawan Emsawat, aka “Golf”, comes as the Thai monastic circle is being rocked by an unprecedented number of recent s*x scandals, in which senior monks are alleged to have had close or intimate relationships with Wilawan.

The 25th governor of the Bank of Thailand (BOT) has not yet been selected, despite Finance Minister Pichai Chunhavajira having told the media that the issue would be on the Cabinet’s agenda. Pichai, who will have the final say on the selection, declined to confirm widespread rumours that, of the two candidates, he prefers Vitai Ratanakorn over Roong Mallikamas.

The new governor will serve a five-year term, succeeding Sethaput Suthiwartnarueput, who has reached retirement age.

The Thai Army is investigating an incident at Ta Muen Thom Temple in Surin province, in which a unit of Cambodian soldiers allegedly entered the temple compound and confronted Thai troops stationed there.

Witnesses said both sides were seen pushing one another.

The confrontation began when a Cambodian woman yelled at a Thai soldier in anger, claiming that the Thai troops had encroached on Cambodian territory.

Later, soldiers of both countries stepped in to calm the woman down.

The Thai deputy defence minister denied today that the United States had requested the use of a naval base in Phang Nga province as part of tariff bargaining with Thailand.

Gen Nattaphon Nakpanich said his ministry has not been informed of any such proposal and that he only learnt about the claims from the media, he said.

The Cybercrime Investigation Bureau (CIB) is seeking warrants for the arrests of three children of Kok An, the alleged Cambodian scam boss, on charges of involvement in transnational crime.

The three suspects have been identified by Thai police as Kittisak, Churee and Phu Cher-lin. CIB officers claim that they have Thai ID cards and stay in one of their luxury houses in Bangkok every time they visit the city.

Cambodia’s strongman Hun Sen has attacked Thaksin Shinawatra again, his former long-time ally, accusing him of sharing confidential Thai government documents concerning the granting of aid to Cambodia.

Hun Sen said he considers Thaksin’s actions to be treason.

Now serving as president of the Cambodian Senate, Hun Sen made the statement while chairing an extraordinary Senate session on July 14.
