Power in Prose and Pithy -Five-: Joy Thomas, Author
This is a series that focuses on the takeaways that writing can give us about that thing called life in Prose or Pithy form.
Readers; have you ever asked yourself if you’re a country rose?
These roses,
They don’t look like anything special. This one is even missing some petals.
But they are special. They represent the delicate balance of country life.
They are fragile, but stubborn. Delicate, but strong. They are resilient, full of grit, wild, and undeniably beautiful, even if they are a little rough around the edges.
These roses crossed the ocean from Germany in the 1880’s, found a home in Iowa, and decided to thrive.
They have grown on our family farm for nearly 150 years. Only one person has successfully taken a cutting and gotten it to grow elsewhere.
You’d think it requires special care hearing that, but check the comments to see where it’s currently growing.
