🥰One thing I appreciate about Inspoetry by Devani Devi is that she always has something beautiful on her mind.

I think “Inspoetry” is most fitting.

🌹A Question to All;
Is becoming a flower a powerful representation of choosing oneself?

I've been lucky to find old poetry tucked away in the attic while visiting my aging parents. I thought it had been lost for good. Reading through it, I've noticed something.

"Isolationist"

I wrote of isolation

As if it was a permanent station

Not knowing if I’d ever leave

So much so it became false elation

As I look upon new poetry I believe

It was the heaviest of burdens to heave

With maturity and love I now know

My happiness I did deceive

Power in Prose and Pithy -Five-: Joy Thomas, Author

This is a series that focuses on the takeaways that writing can give us about that thing called life in Prose or Pithy form.

Readers; have you ever asked yourself if you’re a country rose?

These roses,

They don’t look like anything special. This one is even missing some petals.

But they are special. They represent the delicate balance of country life.

They are fragile, but stubborn. Delicate, but strong. They are resilient, full of grit, wild, and undeniably beautiful, even if they are a little rough around the edges.

These roses crossed the ocean from Germany in the 1880’s, found a home in Iowa, and decided to thrive.

They have grown on our family farm for nearly 150 years. Only one person has successfully taken a cutting and gotten it to grow elsewhere.

You’d think it requires special care hearing that, but check the comments to see where it’s currently growing.

Powerful.

Powerful.

Bravery
She paused to stand
As she took off his wedding band
Lovingly off his hand.
All sat there
Did not speak as silent tears
Soaked her long hair.
And in her mind
Remembering all the times
Of their moments left behind.
Never again to hold,
Her eyes were terribly cold
None was able to console.
They watched and peered.
As she bent near
Whispers appeared.
“I love you” can be heard
As she said these words
Their eyes welled and blurred
She put his ring on
Strength to draw upon
But his life was gone.
A soldier’s duty
Pride in his country
Dying young is such cruelty
The wind began to blow
His casket sank below
But she could not let go.
No one was able to depart
Feeling the sadness in their hearts
As she fell apart
Her child cried
She realized her eyes must dry
To be both parents now she needs to try.
