Thailand has entered a period of national mourning following the passing of H.M. Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother on October 24, 2025.
🚩 Flags at half-mast for 30 days
🖤 The general public is urged to wear black for 90 days
🎊 Pleasure and festivities are toned down for 30 days
🍸 No general alcohol ban, but some bars and clubs can temporarily close or reduce parties
🙏 Show respect in public places, especially at temples and royal ceremonies.
It is still possible to travel in the country - hotels, restaurants, and airports function as usual - but the mood is more muted than normal.
🇹🇭 The Thai people are mourning the loss of their Queen, so a smile, black attire, and respectful behavior is much appreciated right now.
