As a public broadcaster, Thai PBS has a distinctive place in the Thai media industry. Its code of ethics insures that Thai PBS carry out its mission with full accountability and integrity as well as respects for the rights of others. All personnel of Thai PBS are obliged to strictly abide by its code of ethics that governs program production and program contents. The process of designing the code of ethics was inclusive, taking into account opinions and suggestions from representatives of Thai PBS employees, program producers, the Audience Council and experts in the field of mass communications. Thai PBS has a sub-committee to oversee conduct of employees at all levels and to monitor program and news contents to make sure that they are in compliance with the code of ethics. The committee also investigates complaints about breaches of the code of ethics from Thai PBS audiences.

The National Olympic Committee of Thailand (NOCT) president, Pimol Srivikorn, is set to summon the Amateur Muaythai Association of Thailand (AMTAT) to seek clarification over allegations of result rigging at the national martial arts competition during the recently concluded 33rd SEA Games.

The move comes after Pimol received a petition from renowned promoter Nuttadaj Vachirarattanawong and athlete Arissara Noon-eiad, who was on the receiving end of what appeared to be a dubious decision in her title bout against Filipino opponent Islay Erika Bomogao.

Metropolitan police have been questioning a 37-year-old man today, who was arrested in Trat province in connection with the fatal shooting of a motorist on the Si Rat Expressway in Bangkok’s Bang Sue district in the early hours of December 23.

The suspect, identified as ‘Songkran’, reportedly confessed to the shooting, claiming he was driving a minivan when he fired at the victim after being cut off in traffic.

Preliminary investigations indicate that the suspect’s minivan and the victim’s sedan cut in front of each other about 500 meters before the toll booth.

December 25, 2025: Don’t underestimate the power of the word “Uncles” in political rhetoric.

Move Forward, now the People’s Party, soared in 2023 thanks in no small measure to its “If there are uncles, there are no us” slogan. That statement graced election posters and was blared out of rally stages nationwide. References to the “three uncles”, or big-name military leaders involved with the post-coup government of Prayut Chan-o-cha, were heard in Parliament, too.

Now that the last of the uncles, Palang Pracharath leader Prawit Wongsuwan, has dropped out as a PM candidate, it has put the nail in the coffin of a priceless ideological platform that helped Move Forward swept the last general election unexpectedly.

Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul said the dismantling and damage of a statue resembling a Hindu deity near a casino in the Chong Anh Ma area of Ubon Ratchathani province cannot be compared to the sacrifices of Thai soldiers who lost their limbs.

“Concerning the statue that was damaged, if you compare it to the suffering and sacrifices of our soldiers, and try to equate it with acts of disrespect, I don’t compare the two at all,” he said.

The Bhumjaithai party has nominated party leader Anutin Charnvirakul and Foreign Minister Sihasak Phuangketkeow as its candidates for the post of prime minister ahead of next year’s general election.

The party says Anutin, who is currently serving as caretaker prime minister, has experience in governing the country and enjoys public support to continue his work. With Thailand facing multiple challenges, the party said continuity in leadership is necessary and that it considers Anutin the most suitable person for the job.

The health of children living in the city is deteriorating, with many of them struggling with an excess of fat, obesity and certain related health conditions.

An analysis of the annual check-ups of over 220,000 students in 437 schools under the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) reveals that about 21.65% youngsters suffer from excessive weight, with those at the primary levels the most affected. And some are already showing signs that could indicate they are at risk of certain chronic diseases.

The Palang Pracharath party announced a reshuffle of its leadership and prime ministerial candidates today, with Treenuch Thienthong replacing Prawit Wongsuwan as the party’s first PM candidate.

Prawit will remain the party leader, but will not run for prime minister over health concerns, Deputy Party Leader Paiboon Nititawan said after a meeting of the party’s executive committee.

Prawit will contest the top spot on the party-list MP lineup and will continue to certify all MP candidates for the election.

Bhumjaithai Party leader Anutin Charnvirakul claimed today that the party is now ready to stage a political comeback, serve the people, and lead the country to prosperity under its new slogan, “Say and Do Plus.”

He made the announcement while addressing the party’s 500 constituency and party-list candidates, along with Foreign Minister Sihasak Phuangketkeow, Finance Minister Ekniti Nitithanprapas, and Commerce Minister Suphajee Suthumpun.
