Today, I would like to tell you about me, Chef Tak. A brief personal history... Why did I become a chef who also sings? Some people have wondered. 😃 ... Long ago, when I was 6-7 years old, my father lived in Khong Buri District. He had a sound amplifier (inherited from my grandparents). In the past, around 1972, there was no electricity or tap water in the village. We had to use a Kubota engine and a generator to get electricity. My father took on the job of using a sound amplifier to go to various events. He used a cart as a vehicle and had two cows to pull the cart to carry luggage such as a Kubota engine, speakers, sound equipment, and others. It was convenient because he didn't have to refuel. He just found grass and water for the cows to eat. The two cows were named Ai Mi and Pai Sod. The three of us went together: me, my father, and Uncle Phongs to help work. Normally, they would charge 300 baht per job (3 days and 2 nights), which was considered a good price at that time. The normal wage for farming was 25 baht per day... My father gave me the job of helping install the speakers. I had to put the speakers up high. Otherwise, it might be stolen. Another duty is to be a guard to prevent anyone from putting sand in the Kubota machine. If there are drunkards who come to tease, they might be jealous. And another duty that my father gave me to play music, to be a DJ. In the past, it was a record. Each record had two songs. But if it was a mahori piphat song, it used a big record. It took several minutes. It was fun. There were only a few artists, such as Waiphot Surapol Phongsri, Chaichana Boonyachoti, Toonthongchai... I got used to holding the microphone and saying hello... In the early evening, my father would have a local performance of singing and dancing. There were two tom drums, cymbals, and people singing and cheering for the circle dance. My duty was to find a microphone for them to sing. The microphone in the past was a big square wrapped in a colored cloth... But it was strange that no matter what era, people would fight while dancing. 😄 To the point of using guns and knives to shoot at each other... It was very brutal and fierce. In the past, there were no police here. We had to use the village headman to control the work. And the village headman or assistant had to be a gangster before being able to control the people... 🎼🎶End of episode 1. When I have free time, I will tell the next episode. (Thank you for following Chef Tak. Don't forget to like & share.) (P.S. The next episode will cover the origin of Chef Tak's first musical instrument and who was the teacher... Don't forget to follow👍
