Trusting God’s Will In Tragedy

When tragedy strikes, it’s hard to make sense of the pain and confusion we feel. We may wonder why God allows such heartbreak, but His ways are higher than ours, even when we don’t understand them. In the middle of the storm, God is still working, still present, and still good. His will may not always match our plans, but it is always filled with love and purpose. When we lean into Him, even with broken hearts, He gives us strength and peace that the world can’t offer.

Bible Verse:

“The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.”

Psalm 34:18

Dear God,
Help me to have the full faith and trust that Daniel had in the lion’s den. No matter what challenges or uncertainties I face, let me stand firm in my belief that You are with me, protecting and guiding me through every trial.

Give me courage when fear tries to take hold, and remind me that my trust in You is never misplaced. Strengthen my faith to remain steadfast, knowing that just as You delivered Daniel, You are working in my life for my good and Your glory.

Dear God,
Thank You for the example of Isaiah 6:8, where he said, “Here am I. Send me!” I’m grateful for Your call on my life and the privilege of serving You however You choose. Your purpose is perfect, and I want to be part of it.

Please shape my heart and mind to be willing and ready, like Isaiah, to say “yes” to You. Give me the courage and humility to serve in any way You need me to, trusting that Your strength will carry me through every task.

Help me to walk in full surrender today. I wish it were a one-time decision, but I know that each day I must choose to give You my life and fully surrender to Your will. Let my desires align with Yours, and guide me to trust in Your perfect plan over my own.

Walk with me as I seek to follow You today. Give me the strength to let go of control, the wisdom to recognize Your leading, and the faith to obey. May my life be a reflection of Your purpose, bringing glory to You in all that I do.

Dear God,
We seek Your peace and comfort for those dealing with stress. Provide a calming presence in the midst of their hectic lives and grant them moments of tranquility to restore their spirits.

Help them to manage their responsibilities wisely, prioritizing tasks and setting aside time for rest and rejuvenation. Teach them to cast their anxieties on You, trusting that You will sustain them. May they find strength in Your promises and relief in Your unfailing love.

It’s that time again for the 2nd Annual “GRILLIN ON THE LEVEE” Grillin contest

Saturday, July 26, 2025, 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Schelben Park. It’s the BIGGEST and tasteful competition that the Delta has invented, so you better not miss it.

There is a $50.00 entry fee for all participants competing in the competition. Vendors are welcome to come setup and make some money by paying a $150.00 fee.

Half of the proceeds made from this event will be donated to the Boys & Girls Club, so this for sure is for a great cause.

There will be a kids zone for your kids to come out to have fun, this is a family oriented event.

This year’s category consists of: CHICKEN, BEEF BRISKET, PORK RIBS AND OXTAILS. If you think you have the grilling skills to WIN, then you better sign up NOW!

Help me to be Your hands and feet today to those around me. Give me the willingness to step out of my comfort zone, to push past awkwardness, and to do whatever is needed to show love and kindness to those who need Your help.

Open my eyes to see opportunities to serve, listen, and encourage. Fill me with compassion and boldness so that my actions reflect Your heart. May my words and deeds bring hope and remind others of Your great love.

Dear God,
I know I won’t always get everything right, and I ask for Your help to walk in humility. Give me the strength to admit when I mess up, to learn from my mistakes, and to grow in wisdom.

Help me to respond with grace when corrected and to extend that same grace to others. Keep my heart soft and teachable, always open to Your guidance. May my failures never discourage me but instead draw me closer to You, trusting in Your mercy and transformation.
