From my hometown Iloilo Philippines 🇵🇭

🇪🇸 “Spain remembers Paulino Alcántara. But they forgot where he came from.”

In Spain, Paulino Alcántara is a name you still hear in the halls of Camp Nou.

He was Barcelona’s top scorer for nearly a century — 369 goals in 357 matches.

They still talk about his cannon shot that once tore through the net.

They still call him “El Rompe Redes” the net breaker.

But here’s the strange part.

Ask most Spanish fans who he was, and you’ll hear:

“A legend. A pioneer. A Barcelona icon.”
But ask them where he was born?
Who he played for before Spain?

And the silence says it all.

Because they forgot that Alcántara was born in Iloilo, Philippines.

They forgot that he played for the Philippine national team, scoring goals in the old Far Eastern Championship Games.

They forgot that the first Asian to play for a European club wasn’t Japanese, Korean, or Middle Eastern but Filipino.

Today, Spain sees him as part of their football heritage and we can understand that but still..
We remember the part they left out.
That before he wore the Spanish jersey,
before he led Barça to Copa titles,
he was one of us.

He was a boy from Iloilo with a football and a future.

It’s not about rewriting history.
It’s about reclaiming our place in it.

Paulino Alcántara doesn’t belong to Spain alone.
He belongs to all Filipinos to every kid playing on muddy fields in the provinces, to every young dreamer who thinks football has no place in this country.

We were there.
At the beginning.
And we’re still here.

Spain remembers his goals.
Let’s make sure they remember where they came from.

🇵🇭 From Iloilo to Barcelona.
From forgotten to unforgettable.

🚫 🇩🇰 Denmark is about to become the first country in Europe to give people copyright over their own face, voice, and body to fight AI deepfakes.

A new proposal supported by almost all parties in Denmark would change the copyright law so people can claim rights to their physical appearance and voice. This means if someone makes a fake video, audio clip, or image using your likeness without permission, you can demand it gets taken down and even get compensation.

Culture Minister Jakob Engel-Schmidt said he wants to send a clear message that everyone owns the rights to their own face and voice. He called it necessary because people today can be copied digitally and misused in ways we couldn’t imagine before.

The law is expected to be finalized this fall and take effect before the end of 2025. It will allow exceptions for parody and satire to protect freedom of expression, but it focuses on stopping harmful uses like fake p**n videos, scams, and false political content.

If tech platforms do not remove this content when asked, they could face big fines. Denmark also plans to push for similar protections across Europe when it takes over the EU presidency in 2025.

Many experts see this as a major step in giving people back control in a time when AI can easily clone voices, faces, and even full body movements. The move is part of a bigger trend where governments try to keep up with fast AI developments and protect citizens from abuse and fraud.

Denmark might lead the way, but the rest of Europe is watching closely.
