Contestant Registration for the 2026 Contest opens on Saturday, November 8. Be sure to read all of the revised rules carefully as there have been some major changes. Beginning in 2026, Junior, Senior & Regular Division entrants will all need to include a theme piece in their contest repertoire. The 2026 theme is “Food or Drink,” requiring that players include one selection with either “food” or “drink” in the title. A link to a list of representative pieces is included.

One other significant change is that the New Rag Contest will no longer be judged using a point system. Judges will comment on specific aspects of the composition and their decision is final. We will accept no more than ten entries in this division and contest personnel will not be available to perform New Rags.

There is now a separate registration form for each contest (New Rag; Junior; Regular; Senior). All fields on each form are specific to the contest you are entering and need to be completed. Please be sure to fill out the media contact information on the registration form so we can let media in your home town know about your involvement in the event.

Start spreading the news so we have a fantastic contestant pool this May!
