🎬 “Thailand, Told by You” creator challenge → winners get hosted trips
🌕 “Amazing Mid-Autumn in Thailand” with Thai stars & influencers
🎁 “Chinese Passport Privilege” perks at shops, malls, spas, and services

Celebrating 50 years of Thailand–China ties, the campaign strengthens cultural exchange and positions Thailand as a world-class tourism hub.

The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) has launched its “Nihao Month” campaign in Guangzhou to boost Chinese travel to Thailand during the Mid-Autumn Festival and National Day Golden Week. The opening ceremony, attended by TAT Governor Thapanee Kiatphaibool, Deputy Consul-General Porpot Changyawa, and Ke Xiandong, deputy director of the Guangzhou Municipal Bureau of Culture, Radio, Television and Tourism, highlighted growing cooperation between the two countries in tourism and cultural exchange.

Running from September through December, the campaign has been developed to capture demand during one of China’s busiest travel seasons. TAT is presenting Thailand as a “Quality Destination” by stressing safety, high service standards, and authentic cultural experiences.

The program includes the “Thailand, Told by You” challenge, inviting Chinese creators to produce travel content under Thai tourism themes, with winners traveling to Thailand for a hosted trip. Another key event, “Amazing Mid-Autumn in Thailand, Welcome Reception,” will feature popular Thai actors, who enjoy wide popularity in China, alongside prominent online influencers.

To provide added benefits for visitors, the campaign introduces the “Chinese Passport Privilege” program, offering exclusive deals at shops, malls, spas, and tourism services across Thailand. The initiative is supported by partnerships with major platforms and leading Thai retail groups.
Launched in the year of the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Thailand and China, “Nihao Month” is set to strengthen cultural links while enhancing Thailand’s profile as a world-class tourism hub known for its hospitality.

🌟 PRD Booth Goes Viral in Japan – Long Queues Despite the Rain 🌧️

On 4 September 2025, the Government Public Relations Department of Thailand (PRD) continued to generate strong public interest with its Thai soft power showcase at Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai. The PRD booth, presented under the theme “Thainess Power: Connecting Lives for Greatest Happiness,” went viral on social media 📱, attracting large crowds of visitors throughout the day. Even heavy afternoon rain did not deter visitors, who continued to queue outside to participate in the booth’s activities.

The booth’s popularity was reflected in feedback from Japanese visitors 🇯🇵, some of whom said they had come back multiple days in a row 🔄, with many making the PRD booth their first stop upon arriving at the Expo. Meanwhile, representatives from the France Pavilion 🇫🇷 also visited the booth, noting they were drawn by viral posts on X (Twitter) 🐦, particularly about the highly popular AI Photobooth 🤖 that allows visitors to virtually dress in traditional Thai costumes.

On the same day, representatives from the National Telecommunications Public Company Limited (NT) and Ms. Aranya Ketkaew, Deputy Director-General of PRD, joined the booth activities to encourage staff and engage with visitors.

Additionally, the PRD delegation met with Mr. Wataru Fujioka, Head of the Abeno Disaster Prevention Center “Abeno Taskal” in Osaka, to discuss disaster management approaches ⚠️ and risk communication strategies that could be adapted for Thailand’s context. The meeting also explored how the Center’s knowledge and practices could help enhance Thai public communication on disaster preparedness.

On 11 September 2025, PRD executives and Thai media representatives will join a demonstration at the Abeno Taskal Center 🏢 to observe its disaster management systems, communication methods, and interactive training activities. The visit will also include discussions on potential cooperation 🤝 and technical support from the Center’s experts to strengthen Thailand’s crisis communication capabilities—ensuring greater national readiness in the face of future disasters.
