Whiskers and the Window to the Wild”
Whiskers was no ordinary cat. With a coat as silvery as moonlight and eyes that shimmered like emeralds, she carried herself with the quiet dignity of a creature who knew she was descended from jungle royalty. But Whiskers had never seen a jungle. Her kingdom was a sun-drenched apartment on the third floor, filled with plush cushions, dangling toys, and the occasional whiff of tuna.
Her favorite throne? The velvet armchair parked directly in front of the television.
It had started one rainy afternoon when her human, Mira, had stumbled upon a curious video titled The Ultimate Videos of Birds for Cats To Watch. Mira had clicked play, expecting a few chirps and flutters. But Whiskers? She had leapt onto the chair, tail twitching, eyes locked on the screen.

There they were—Eurasian Jays, Magpies, Nuthatches, and Robins—darting, pecking, and preening in glorious high definition. Whiskers was mesmerized. Her ears flicked with every chirp, her paws twitched with every flutter. It was as if someone had opened a portal to a world she’d only known in dreams.
From that day on, the television became her window to the wild.
Each morning, Mira would brew her coffee and cue up a new episode of “Cat TV.”
