Looking forward to it.

A few cheeky pics and a video to follow!

These Shanks were bought from Chidswell Farm Shop and I never bothered trimming the little fat cap on them as the fat will be rendered in this Old Delhi style slow cook, enhancing the flavour! 🙌🏽

🇬🇧 KNOW WHERE YOUR MEAT COMES FROM. 🥩

Today I called into Chidswell Farm Shop in Dewsbury, and this is exactly the sort of place I mean when I talk about British meat, traceability and animal welfare.

Chidswell is a family run farm that’s been part of the local community since 1953, and here’s the important bit…

They rear the meat they sell right there on the farm. 🐄🐖

Their cattle are grass fed and reared on the farm, their pigs are raised on site, and the meat is prepared by experienced butchers.

That means there’s a proper connection between the farmer, the animal, the butcher and the customer.

And after some of the conversations we’ve been having recently about meat and animal welfare, I think this is really important.

If animal welfare genuinely matters to us, then it shouldn’t just matter when it suits an argument.

It should matter every time we buy meat.

Where was the animal born and reared?
How was it looked after?
Can the meat be traced?
Do you actually know what you’re buying?

British farm assurance standards cover things such as animal health and welfare, traceability, suitable feed and water, competent handling and conditions throughout the supply chain.

And THIS is why I love proper local farm shops and butchers.

You can walk through the door and actually ask where your meat came from.

For me, eating meat comes with a responsibility.

Buy better. Buy British where you can. Support your local farmers and butchers. And most importantly, know where your food comes from. 🇬🇧🥩

Always great to meet the lads at Chidswell too, proper friendly Yorkshire welcome! 🙌🏽

⚽️ I’M TAKING PART! ⚽️

Another event added to what’s going to be a VERY busy Bank Holiday weekend! 🙌🏽😂

On Saturday 29th August, I’ll be at Mate United FC’s Charity Fun Day Football Tournament at Amaranth Football Club in Leeds — and I won’t just be watching… I’ll be getting involved and taking part! ⚽️😳

It’s all in support of Andy’s Man Club, raising awareness and funds for men’s mental health through the power of football. 🙏🏽

📍 Amaranth Football Club, Manston Lane, Cross Gates, Leeds LS15 8AB
📅 Saturday 29th August
🎟️ FREE ENTRY — ALL WELCOME!

There’ll be football, food & drink, kids’ games, face painting, stalls and plenty going on for the whole family.

Come down, say Hello Bastuuds, support a brilliant cause… and witness first-hand why nobody has ever tried to sign me for the Premier League. 😂⚽️

All proceeds go to Andy’s Man Club. 💙

You’ve heard of Yorkshire Tea… but have you ever experienced Yorkshire Tourette’s?

It’s a rare condition where perfectly normal sentences are suddenly interrupted by words like Bastuuds, Bo****ks and Bloody Hell!

Symptoms get considerably worse when someone says Lancashire is better than Yorkshire. 👀

Anyone else suffering from Yorkshire Tourette’s?

Going to be a packed Bank Holiday Weekend for me at the end of August!

Three events in one weekend! And I’m kicking things off on the Friday at Bolton!

I’m very privileged to have been invited by the organisers of Bolton Food and Drink Festival

Will be my first time there and a few of my friends will be attending including Dad Loves Food who has been visiting the event for many years and says it’s one of the best around!

I’ll be there on Friday 28th August for a Meet & Greet, so if you’re heading down, make sure you come over and say HELLO BASTUUD!

Grab your tickets and I’ll see you there! 🙌🏽

I saw this comment from Jenny Kennedy today, and it genuinely stopped me in my tracks. ❤️🙏🏽

This is exactly why I do what I do.

Yes, I love food, cooking, travelling, taking the mick and talking absolute nonsense (and sometimes not so nonsense) but more than anything, I love making people smile.

We never really know what somebody watching on the other side of a screen might be going through.

If one of my silly videos can make someone laugh when they’re having a difficult day, even if it’s just for a couple of minutes, then that means more to me than views, likes or follower numbers ever could.

Jenny, I hope whatever you’re going through gets a little easier. ❤️

And thank you for reminding me why I keep doing this.

If I’ve made you smile today, I’ve done my job. 🙏🏽
