Sustaining our oceans and seas is vital for both the planet and humanity, requiring urgent, transformative action to address pollution, climate change and unsustainable practices.

Our oceans and seas are in danger as a result of human activity and these are some things we need to consider:
1. Address pollution from plastic waste, oil spills, and toxic discharge as these pose a severe threat to marine life and ecosystems.
2. Oceans play a vital role in climate regulation through carbon absorption and supporting adaptation strategies. Sustainable ocean management is needed to build resilience against climate change impacts.
3. Sustainable fishing practices are essential for maintaining fish populations and healthy ecosystems. Marine protected areas and other conservation measures help protect biodiversity and ecosystem services.

Sustain our oceans and seas!

Happy Monday folks! We are starting the week with some do's and don'ts when recycling cardboard.

Do's
-Flatten cardboard boxes:
This maximises space in your recycling bin and makes it easier for recycling
facilities to process.
-Remove non-cardboard materials:
Take out plastic wrapping, styrofoam and other packaging materials before
recycling.
-Keep cardboard clean and dry:
Avoid recycling wet or greasy cardboard, as this can contaminate other
recyclables.

Don’ts
-Don't include greasy cardboard: Grease can contaminate other recyclables.
-Don't include wet cardboard: Wet cardboard fibres are compromised and can cause issues.
-Don't include waxed cardboard: Waxed cardboard is not recyclable.
