Joshua Regrello has celebrated a major milestone in his career, headlining his own concert in the heart of New Delhi, India—an achievement he describes as unforgettable.

The event was hosted at the prestigious National Museum in New Delhi, organized by the Ministry of Culture, Government of India, in collaboration with the High Commission of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago.
Regrello expressed deep gratitude for the opportunity, highlighting the cultural significance of showcasing Trinidad and Tobago’s national instrument on an international platform of this caliber.

“India really gave me a moment I will never forget… I am very proud of this moment and grateful to share the steelpan on a stage like this,” he shared following the performance.

In a memorable moment during the concert, an audience member—captivated by the instrument—requested that Regrello turn the steelpan around to observe the interior while he played. He described the interaction as a powerful sign of growing global curiosity and appreciation for the steelpan and Caribbean culture.

The audience reaction, he noted, was overwhelmingly supportive and emotional:

“The reaction from the crowd was something else. The love in that room was unreal.”

Regrello’s performance stands as a cultural exchange victory, reinforcing the steelpan’s influence on world music and strengthening the artistic relationship between T&T and India.

His message concluded with heartfelt appreciation:
“India, thank you.”

Prakash Ramcharan has announced that he will be stepping away from the stage for an extended period, as he begins a journey of recovery and vocal rehabilitation. In a statement shared on Facebook today, Ramcharan revealed that he has been advised to undergo significant vocal rest over the coming months, which means that no new bookings will be taken for the foreseeable future.

Expressing deep appreciation for the support he has received throughout his career, Ramcharan extended heartfelt thanks to fans, promoters, and all who have worked with him. He also offered sincere apologies to audiences who may have noticed vocal strain or off-key moments in recent performances, noting that the issue was bigger than he anticipated.

Ramcharan emphasized that protecting his voice at this stage is crucial to ensuring the possibility of continuing his craft in the long term. “Taking care of my voice is the best decision as of right now to give me a fair chance to continue doing what I love in the long-run,” he stated, adding that while the road ahead will be challenging, he remains optimistic.

“It’ll be a long journey to recovery, but I am hopeful that this is not the end,” he said, closing with a message of gratitude: “Much love, respect and blessings in abundance to each and every one of you.”
