Mayaro man charged with murder of Cassie Ann LemessyA 35-year-old man from Mayaro has been charged with the murder of Cassie Ann Lemessy, who was gunned down in broad daylight last month.The accused, Samuel Paul, was formally charged with murder and possession of a firearm following legal advice from Deputy Director of Public Prosecutions, Mrs. Dougadeen-Jaglal, on Monday, July 7th, 2025.The charges stem from a fatal shooting that occurred around 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, June 17th, at LP 54 Church Road, Mayaro. Residents reported hearing a series of loud explosions, prompting a swift response from police.Upon arrival around 3:40 p.m., officers discovered the lifeless body of a woman—later identified as Cassie Ann Lemessy—seated in the front middle seat of a white MG vehicle parked under a shed and facing west. The vehicle bore multiple gunshot damages to the windshield and both front doors, suggesting a targeted attack.Following extensive investigations, police arrested the suspect, Samuel Paul, on Monday, June 30th, 2025.The investigation was led by PC Gillead, under the supervision and direction of ASP Victor, W/Insp Sylvester, Sgt Ramoutar, and PC Subiar, all of the Homicide Bureau of Investigations Region II. After gathering sufficient evidence, a case file was submitted to the Office of the DPP, resulting in formal charges.Paul is scheduled to appear before a magistrate on Tuesday, July 8th, 2025.

Let the other side to the Lina's Free Range Eggs saga come to light. Many persons have asked us to shed some light. Here it is.

1. The venes didn't attack Lina's father. Lina's father came across and started cursing them and antagonizing them. He even cursed one of their toddlers. As seen in 2 videos at different angles. Ask your self why she conveniently muted her father's voice from the video they posted in that altercation? And this is not the first time that he has cursed and abused contractors at our hatchery.

2. Contrary to her post, the video didn't show any worker putting her birds into our pens. They were already there. They flew over the fence earlier in the day.

3. Lina's chickens are allowed to run freely and fly over our fencing. It's a daily struggle to catch and remove their birds from our flock and return it to her. More so, they are eating our feed for free. And pose a biosecurity risk to our hatchery. Lina's family is of the opinion that because their birds are free range, they can go wherever they like. They said it many time. We say to them, be responsible poultry farmers and secure your birds with proper fencing, just as we did.

4. You can see in multiple videos the level of unprovoked hostility displayed towards us. One video shows Lina's father driving recklessly on the roadway almost hitting my child. Same Black Primera being driven, which can also be seen parked in his yard in another video we just posted.

5. Another video shows both her parents using unprovoked, expletives towards me. Clearly disregarding the fact that both Lina and her baby sister were in their presence. I had to tell Wendy (Lina's mother) to hold the baby properly, although I was the one being sworn at.

7. In one of her videos, she makes mention of a Belgian Shepard. For the record, it's not a dog. It's a 3 month old puppy. Puppies can become mischievous from time to time, but we are acttively training them to become socialized to poultry. After all, the pups reside on a poultry farm. Her father drew a 3 cannal and threatened to chop off their heads. They conveniently chose not to show the entire video with the puppy because her father would have been seen with a machete, threatening me.

8. Lina is adamant that we are trying to extort $ from her. She doesn't tell the fact that we formally notified her via WhatsApp that there will be a charge moving forward everytime we have to have persons come in to catch and return her Layers which enter our pen, then sanitize the entire pen after the birds are returned. She twisted the truth.

9. Lina's father once worked for us. We ended the work arrangement because of his poor attitude towards work. So yes he has an axe to grind.

10. You can also see a video of her chickens swarming us for feed, because they never fed properly and are always hungry.

It's clearly a misleading narrative being portrayed to the public and carefully orchestrated. Yes she is my Niece who started her egg business with our generous contribution of 100 layer chicks, vitamins, poultry equipment and an unlimited supply of feed. Eventually she turned on us. She said in as many words that we are jealous of her.

We kept out of her way after that. But the time has reached for us to defend our company against defamation. We will not sit idly by and watch the venes be lynched by the public because of a reckless accusation by Lina's Free Range Eggs especially for something they (the venes didn't do). More so, we will not allow our reputation to take a hit for something that could easily have been prevented, had Lina's family taken accountability for their birds distressing others. THE PUBLIC NEEDS TO ACCEPT THAT VENEZUELAN NATIONALS ARE ALSO PEOPLE THAT HAVE NEEDS JUST LIKE ANY OF US. MANY IF THEM ARE VERY HARD WORKING AND HONEST.

Word to the wise... the public is being misled by false narratives. Read between the lines and see the other side of Lina's story. And ask your self if those words are purely of an 11 year old or if strings are being pulled.

Ps. This is something that we have had to deal with with by her father and by extension, her family for years. There are lots and lots more videos that we can post to prove this, but I guess the videos we posted will give a fair representation of what we are saying.

63-YEAR-OLD CRUSHED BY TRUCK AFTER ACT OF KINDNESS

AN act of kindness ended in tragedy for Mathura Ramlogan, 63, when he was crushed to death by a truck in front of his home while trying to help the driver recover materials that fell off the vehicle on July 5.

The driver told police he was driving his white Mitsubishi truck along Bunsee Trace, Penal carrying galvanise to help rebuild a temple in the area when the sheets fell off while going up a steep incline around 2 pm. He said he stopped the truck, put the gear in neutral and pulled the handbrakes before getting out to pick up the fallen material.

He said Ramlogan came out of his home to help him recover the galvanise sheets. That's when he said the truck began rolling backward, pinning Ramlogan under the rear right wheel and dragging him some ten metres down the road before the vehicle stopped on the flat.

EMTs were unable to find signs of life. A district medical officer visited and pronounced Ramlogan dead and ordered the body removed pending a post-mortem.
