Trinidad and Tobago… 🇹🇹🤍
Many of us are feeling heavy after hearing the heartbreaking news of a young life lost to su***de.
And moments like this remind us of something important… WE DO NOT ALWAYS KNOW WHAT SOMEONE IS CARRYING.
Someone can laugh with you, go to work, go to school, lime with friends, post on social media and still be hurting deeply inside.
So PLEASE… be mindful of how our words, our actions and even our silence can affect another person.
Check on your people. Don’t just ask, “Yuh good?” Out of habit and walk by…
Ask with care and consideration and if someone tells you they’re struggling with something…
LISTEN!
•Don’t judge.
•Don’t shame them.
•Don’t spread what they trusted you with.
•Don’t tell them to just be strong.
•Don’t make them feel like they’re a burden.
Sometimes, what someone needs most is to know: “You don’t have to face this alone.”
And if YOU are battling right now… PLEASE REACH OUT. Talk to someone you trust.
Seek professional help if needed.
YOUR LIFE MATTERS.
YOU MATTER.
At Christy Ann’s Serenity Consultancy, we genuinely care about the wellbeing of our people.
I often wish I could open my doors and provide counseling to everyone who needs it, completely free of charge.
And truthfully, I already offer free support whenever I can.
But I also have a practice to maintain!
My hope is that one day, through community support, partnerships and people who believe in the importance of mental health, I can open my doors even wider and make professional counseling accessible to those who genuinely cannot afford it. Until then, I will continue doing what I can.
Because this is more than a profession to me.
•People matter to me.
•Our community matters to me.
•And mental health matters.
So let’s not only say we care… Let’s show it.
• Let’s be mindful.
• Let’s check on people.
• Let’s listen.
• Let’s care.
• And most importantly… let our actions speak louder than our words.
🇹🇹🤍 Trinidad and Tobago, let’s take care of each other.
