The Association of Tuvalu Students in Taiwan (TATST) celebrated Chinese New Year 2026 with a joyful evening of dinner, shared dishes, and gift exchanges among Tuvaluan students and families from across Taiwan.

The celebration brought together the Tuvalu community living and studying in Taiwan, strengthening bonds of friendship and unity far from home. The event was honored by the presence of H.E. Lily Tangisia Faavae, Tuvalu Ambassador to Taiwan, who attended with her family, along with colleagues from the Tuvalu Embassy in Taipei. Their presence added great significance to the occasion.

During the gathering, Andrew Puga has been re-elected as President of TATST, alongside a new executive team who will lead the association in 2026. Congratulations to President Puga and the new team as they continue to serve and support Tuvaluan students across Taiwan.

Tuvalu students in Taiwan continue to pursue academic excellence while strengthening the enduring friendship between Tuvalu and Taiwan.
Sincere appreciation is extended to the Government and people of Taiwan for their continuous support to Tuvaluan students and to Tuvalu. The strong partnership between the two nations continues to create meaningful opportunities for growth and development.

It’s been a while! Getting back into sharing some travel moments from this winter break. Sharing a few clicks from Xinshe Castle (新社古堡) in Taichung 🏰. This European-style castle is surrounded by hills and greenery, with stone pathways, bridges, and towers that make it feel like a fairytale setting. Although it isn’t a historic castle, Xinshe Castle was designed as a scenic garden inspired by Renaissance architecture, blending European aesthetics with Taiwan’s natural landscape. It’s a peaceful place to walk around, take photos, and enjoy the views—especially during the cooler winter season.
If you’re ever traveling to central Taiwan, or even planning your first trip to Taiwan, this is definitely a spot worth checking out.
