salt district mayor is calling out to the multiverse for a creative collaborator — a multidisciplinary, detail-oriented, culture-driven storyteller ready to help build + scale an audiovisual label + archive, launch a listening room, and carry taiwan’s sonic stories into the future.

💽 PART-TIME VINYL / HIFI ASSOCIATE

🎛️ WHAT YOU’LL DO
・ VINYL DISTRIBUTION
liaise with record shops for distribution of our in-house releases, manage inventory, pack + ship orders, and connect with local + international vinyl communities.

・ ARCHIVAL
assist in organizing, logging, digitizing, and preserving the SDM archive; participate in vinyl cleaning + resleeving days.

・ EVENTS
curate + coordinate local taiwan events, showcases, and programs; assist with listening session logistics; connect with venues; on-site support.

・WEB + FULFILLMENT
help build and design the new SDM website + shop; organize product listings, shipping flows, and inventory systems.

・ MEDIA + SOCIALS
edit event archival videos, DJ sets, and listening sessions; prep posts + captions; assist with photo / video shoots; operate cameras; design creative graphics and maintain SDM’s visual identity + voice.

・ CREATIVE ADMIN
support grant applications, bilingual copywriting, and internal documents.

this role will gradually evolve from PART TIME VINYL / HIFI ASSOCIATE into HIFI SPACE CREATIVE OPERATIONS LEAD — curating listening sessions, managing our custom A/V sound system, and mentoring future tea baristas at our upcoming kaohsiung hifi listening room.

🍵 WHO YOU ARE
passionate about vinyl, hifi, independent music, and taiwanese music, cinema, and roots culture.
fluent in mandarin, comfortable in english.
skilled in adobe suite, video editing, basic web tools, and camera operation
a self-starter: organized, punctual, independent, and curious.
an aesthetic engineer + clear communicator — calm under pressure, intensely obsessive and serious about craft, and a bit of a nerd.

location: kaohsiung (hybrid remote OK, southern-based)
start: december 2025
schedule: 2–3 days per week / flexible hours
compensation: hourly or project-based honorarium

🎛️ 工作內容
・唱片發行與通路：與唱片行洽談 sdm 自家黑膠唱片的通路與發行，管理庫存、包裝與出貨，並與本地及國際黑膠社群建立連結。
・音樂史典藏：協助整理、登錄、數位化與保存 sdm 黑膠典藏；參與黑膠清潔與換內套日。
・活動策劃：規劃並協調台灣各地活動、展示與節目；協助聆聽會場務與場地溝通；提供現場支援。
・網站與出貨系統：協助設計並建置全新的網站與商店，管理商品頁面、物流流程與庫存系統。
・影像與社群：剪輯活動紀錄影片、DJ set、聆聽會影像；撰寫貼文文字；協助攝影／錄影；設計活動視覺並維護 sdm 的美學與語氣。
・創意行政：支援補助申請、雙語文件撰寫與內部資料整理。

此職位將由 黑膠與高傳真夥伴 逐步成長為 聆聽空間營運統籌 —— 策劃聆聽會、管理客製化音響系統、培訓未來的茶吧同仁，共同在高雄打造新的聽覺文化據點。

・熱愛黑膠、hifi 聲音文化、獨立音樂、以及台灣的音樂、電影與鄉土文化。
・精通中文，能以英文溝通。
・具備 adobe suite、影片剪輯、網頁基礎工具與攝影操作。
・主動積極、有條理、守時、獨立、好奇心強。
・一位 美學工程師與清晰溝通者 —— 能在壓力下保持冷靜，對工藝有近乎執著的追求，也帶點宅氣與浪漫。

this first box features a stunning clear-transparent 180g vinyl repress of teresa teng’s rare hokkien-language album, alongside a frankie kao disco gem, martial-law-era banned records, one of taiwan’s earliest all-female guitar bands, and voices that trace the island’s postwar sound — from folk lineage to the surf-tinged haishan records a-gogo era

We’re back for the September edition of 「漫舞運動 SLOW DANCE MOVEMENT」 !! 🌊🪩🙌❤️‍🔥

For this Slow Dance session, we’ve invited musicians, artists, and writers who use music and sound to bring awareness to collective movements and social change.

Kicking us off, Irfanpopish .1990 will play a selection of songs that were once banned in Indonesia, while sharing the stories and trivia behind them.

In this event, Vice City will share her own creative works from the anti-nuclear movement and the Palestine solidarity movement, alongside the music and stories that have fueled her activism, highlighting how sound becomes a force for mobilization, solidarity, and collective power.

For the book club portion, we’ll browse through Jeph Lo’s Altering Nativism. Vicki will share a hybrid vinyl-cd set – 靜不下的歌: music for movements – and share a collection of banned songs, songs of resistance, and songs of hope from taiwanese music history.

To close out the session, we’ll have 陳孝齊 Chen Siao Chi , founder of the experimental space “ACID House” share about his musical practices and work in the Taipei electronic music community and perform an improvised noise liveset.

在這次的 漫舞 場次中，我們邀請了以音樂與聲音來喚起集體運動與社會變革意識的音樂人、藝術家與寫作者。

首先登場的是 Irfanpopish，他將播放一系列曾在印尼被禁的歌曲，並分享這些作品背後的故事與趣聞。

在活動中，Vice City 將分享她來自反核運動與巴勒斯坦聲援運動的創作作品，並帶來支持她行動的音樂與故事，凸顯聲音如何成為動員、團結與集體力量的媒介。

讀書會環節，我們將瀏覽 Jeph Lo 的《Altering Nativism》。vicki 將帶來一場黑膠＋CD 的混合播放 ——《靜不下的歌: music for movements》，分享台灣音樂史中的禁歌、抗爭之歌與希望之歌。

最後，ACID House 創辦人 陳孝齊 將分享他的音樂實踐與在台北電子音樂社群的工作，並帶來即興噪音現場演出。

thai x taiwanese folk music cross currents》part i : 抓狂歌 songs of madness 🐦‍⬛
today i want to share two records that show musical cross currents! the first one is the 1989 rock records album 抓狂歌 songs of madness by 黑名單工作室 blacklist studio which was the first taiwanese hokkien record in taiwan after martial law had been lifted. the title track melody is from a popular thai tune — ยินดีไม่มีปัญหา yin dee mai mee by the thai rock band asanee wasan. the artwork was by the graphic designer akibo lee inspired by old taiwanese medicine pill boxes, a prescription for the madness of society. released as cassettes at the time, the song became an underground hit and was blasted in night markets afterhours. this album ushered in the “新台語歌浪潮 new taiwanese song movement” and lit the path for a whole wave of musicians to write new songs in taiwanese hokkien.
