PlayStation 旗下 VR 開發團隊 Firesprite 過去曾規劃多個未公開的虛擬實境項目，其中包括一款以知名影集《Breaking Bad》為題材的 VR 體驗，以及一個全新科幻恐怖作品。根據最新報導，這些項目最終皆未能正式推出。

《Breaking Bad》VR 計畫據稱於 2017 至 2018 年間開發，定位更接近敘事型沉浸式體驗，而非完整遊戲作品。玩家原本可能透過第一人稱視角探索劇中經典場景，如 Walter White 的住所與新墨西哥沙漠環境。

此外，Firesprite 亦曾開發一款科幻恐怖新 IP，其概念風格被形容為接近《Dead Space》式的黑暗未來設定，但該項目同樣停留在原型階段後遭取消。

儘管部分 VR 計畫未能實現，Firesprite 目前仍持續投入多款新作開發，顯示 PlayStation 在沉浸式敘事與 VR 內容領域仍在進行中。

PlayStation’s VR studio Firesprite previously worked on several unannounced virtual reality projects, including a narrative experience based on the popular TV series Breaking Bad and a new sci-fi horror title. Recent reports suggest that both projects were ultimately canceled before release.

The Breaking Bad VR project was reportedly in development between 2017 and 2018 and was envisioned as a cinematic, story-driven experience rather than a full traditional game. Players may have explored iconic locations such as Walter White’s backyard and the New Mexico desert in first-person VR.

Firesprite also worked on a separate sci-fi horror IP, described as having a tone similar to Dead Space, but this project never progressed beyond the prototype stage.

Despite these canceled initiatives, Firesprite continues to develop new titles, reflecting PlayStation’s ongoing investment in immersive storytelling and VR content.

The latest VR Games Showcase highlighted several clear trends shaping the VR gaming landscape. Shooter titles continue to dominate as a core genre, while cooperative gameplay is becoming increasingly prominent. Roguelike structures are also emerging as a common design approach. Meanwhile, mixed reality experiences are beginning to gain visibility in major showcases, and the continued introduction of VR-exclusive original IP suggests the ecosystem is still expanding.
