Saartjie Baartman (1789-1815) was a South African Khoikhoi woman who was taken to Europe and exhibited as a freak show attraction due to her unusual physical characteristics.

Born in the Eastern Cape of South Africa, Baartman was a member of the Khoikhoi people, a indigenous group that had lived in the region for thousands of years. She was known for her large buttocks and elongated l***a, which were considered unusual and exotic by European standards.

In 1810, Baartman was convinced by a British ship's doctor to travel to England, where she was promised work as a domestic servant. However, upon arrival, she was exhibited as a freak show attraction, with her body being displayed and examined by the public.

Baartman's treatment in Europe was highly exploitative and dehumanizing. She was subjected to humiliating and degrading treatment, including being forced to appear naked on stage and being poked and prodded by spectators.

Baartman died in 1815 at the age of 26, likely due to a combination of poor living conditions, exploitation, and disease. Her body was then dissected and her remains were put on display at the Musée de l'Homme in Paris, where they remained until 1974.

In 2002, Baartman's remains were finally returned to South Africa and buried in the Eastern Cape. Her story has become a symbol of the exploitation and racism faced by indigenous people and people of color during the colonial era.

1. The Kind Of Marriage You Want
When a man wants to build a house, the first thing he does is to decide the kind of house he wants to build and then he'll go ahead to build.

Likewise, when you want to marry, decide the kind of marriage you want. Have a vision for your marriage. Don't just get married because you have or need to. What kind of marriage do you want? 2. To Make Your Marriage Work
