The political landscape in Kilifi County is on fire and it's not by accident. There’s a well-calculated scheme underway to finish the ODM party in Kilifi, and it begins with the impeachment of County Speaker Teddy Mwambire
But let me ask if Teddy is ousted, do we still have ODM in Kilifi?
The PAA party advised the Minority Leader not to proceed with the motion, but he ignored the advice reportedly after a push from Joho, who told him to go ahead despite his own party's reservations.
Now here’s the question what business does Joho have interfering in Kilifi affairs?
Did you notice that when Amina, Mbeyu, and their team visited Baba, they first stopped at Joho’s office? There’s a pattern here.
The same way Joho has been accused of undermining Governor Abdulswamad in Mombasa through the County Speaker is the same script now being played in Kilifi. He allegedly killed ODM in Kwale, and now Kilifi is the next target.
Word on the ground is that Joho is preparing to launch his own political party and since Mombasa is no longer a guaranteed stronghold (due to many outsiders), Kilifi has become his soft landing.
That means one thing ODM is being dismantled from within.
Let’s be honest: when Baba exits the Broad-Based Dialogue process, Joho won’t stand a chance to inherit the party. Not with this strategy.
Governor Gideon Mung’aro, though a senior politician, is seen as struggling with party control and public trust. His ability to rally Kilifi back into ODM after this storm is questionable.
Even Aisha Jumwa, who had shown signs of returning to ODM, is now pulling back sharply reconsidering her options.
ODM is being played.
Yes, Teddy has his weaknesses but this is no longer just about an individual. We must ask ourselves: after this ouster, does ODM gain anything? No.
This move will only empower PAA and weaken ODM further. The narrative on the ground will be simple:
"ODM inawenyewe walimfukuza kijana wao Teddy, sisi tuchukue vyetu."
Let’s look at this differently.
This is bigger than Teddy. It’s about the future of the party.
The ODM Party leadership must intervene now, or we risk watching the house collapse from within.
