Inochi is a documentary road film following the Japanese band Heavenphetamine on tour across Ukraine during the war.

Traveling through concerts, cities, long hours on the road, and the moments in between, the film explores music, connection, and the persistence of cultural life under wartime conditions. It is a story about movement, encounter, and the people who became part of this journey along the way.

Filming has now wrapped, and we are preparing for the editing stage.

We’re deeply grateful to everyone who shared this experience with us and helped make it possible. Over the course of two months, this project took us through constant travel, countless hours on the road, concerts, conversations, blackouts, and attacks.

And still, it became something we would gladly do all over again.

A special thank you to Heavenphetamine for 14 concerts together, and for the music that stayed with us all the way through.
