MAYOR INSPECTS NEARLY COMPLETED AFIANKWO MODERN MARKET, REAFFIRMS COMMITMENT TO GRASSROOTS DEVELOPMENT

The Executive Mayor of Ohafia LGA, Hon. Chief Eleanya Ojuu Kalu, on Wednesday, October 7, 2026, embarked on an inspection tour of the nearly completed Afiankwo Modern Market in Abiriba, alongside the Supervisor for Works, Hon Ifeanyi Kalu, to assess the progress of the project and ensure that the facility is ready to serve the people.

The modern market, equipped with a water borehole, well-constructed toilet facilities, and electricity, represents a significant investment in community infrastructure and local economic development. Beyond providing a conducive trading environment, the project is designed to strengthen commercial activities, support small businesses, improve sanitation, and create better opportunities for traders and residents of Abiriba and neighbouring communities.

The initiative aligns with the broader development vision of His Excellency, Dr. Alex Otti, OFR, Executive Governor of Abia State, whose administration has prioritised infrastructure renewal and the delivery of essential services to the people. Through projects such as the Afiankwo Modern Market, the benefits of governance are being extended to the grassroots, demonstrating the importance of translating development policies into tangible improvements in the lives of ordinary citizens.

As the project approaches completion, it stands as an important milestone in the ongoing efforts to improve commercial infrastructure across Ohafia LGA. With sustained commitment to development, accountability, and service delivery, the people can look forward to a future where communities are better equipped to thrive economically and socially.

As Abia State approaches 2027, the need to sustain ongoing development efforts and consolidate the gains already recorded remains an important consideration. The expectation is that the progress achieved under the administration of His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Abia State, Dr Alex Chioma Otti OFR, alongside grassroots initiatives by local government leadership, will provide a foundation for continued development across the state.

The Afiankwo Modern Market is more than a trading facility; it is an investment in the economic future of Abiriba and Ohafia LGA and a testament to the importance of bringing development closer to the people.

“I will be campaigning harder for Peter Obi until the end of the 2027 elections. They might not let him win, but I just want to know in my heart that I stood for what’s right.”

Tunde Ednut once again declare his full commitment to campaigning for Peter Obi ahead of the 2027 presidential election, saying his priority is to stand by what he believes is right, regardless of the outcome.

How many of you here believe Peter Obi is winning this January 2027 presidential election?

Nigeria is gone and finished if we accept certificate Forgery as a norm in the country, unfortunately as painful as it is the electoral law has removed certificate Forgery as a reason for disqualification. The case of Anthony Kila, who was recently exposed by Premium Times for parading himself as a professor when he isn't one is currently trending online since last week and I wonder who will be the next person to be exposed.

The newspaper investigated Peter Obi and confirmed his credentials to be accurate and genuine but another investigation into the academic records of Anthony Kila has revealed his certificate to be fake. Premium Times while investigating got a shocking reply from Aston University which disclaimed Mr Kila’s 2002 Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree as fake.

According to the university “There is no record in Aston University’s student registry of an Anthony Kila studying for an MBA,” an Aston University spokesperson told our reporter in an email. The City St George’s University of London told PREMIUM TIMES that Mr Kila’s claims differ from its records.

The institution, which said it provided the information only in the public interest, said Mr Kila enrolled in a one-year Banking and International Finance programme in 2000 but was ‘deregistered’ and didn’t complete it. Mr Kila also said he got a Postgraduate Diploma in Media and Communication from the University of Essex in 1992. But the university told PREMIUM TIMES that it doesn’t offer a PGD in Media and Communications and has never offered the programme.

The University of Perugia, where Mr Kila claims to have obtained his PhD in Political Economy in 1997, told this newspaper that its economics department does not award doctoral degrees in political economy. It also directed our reporter to its website, where it lists all its academic programmes.

Mr Kila also claimed to have obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Classic Studies from Università per Stranieri, Italy, in 1989, and a Master of Arts in European Studies from the same institution in 1991.
PREMIUM TIMES found more than one Università per Stranieri in Italy. There is one in Perugia and one in Siena. Although Mr Kila claimed he attended the one in Perugia, we contacted both.

“At the following link you will find all the information relating to our undergraduate and graduate degree programmes,” the Perugia-based university told our reporter in an email. A review of the institution’s historical records shows that it has never offered a BA in Classic Studies or an MA in European Studies. Yet, Mr Kila said he earned Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees at the university.

Our investigation revealed that the university never offered Bachelor’s and Master’s degree programmes during the period he claimed to have attended.Mr Kila also claimed to have obtained a Master of Laws degree from the University of Cambridge in 2009 but the university has yet to respond to our enquiry. However, it is unlikely that Mr Kila attended the institution, as his available qualification records showed he could not have been admitted.

Cambridge, one of the world’s oldest universities, is known for its strict admission requirements. A review of the LLM admission requirements found that the university requires applicants to have at least a first-class law degree.

The summary of it all is that the issue of certificate forgery and identity theft should concerned everyone and we need to put mouth to have everyone and anyone involved exposed. It does not make sense supporting people with questionable credentials. Otherwise we are raising a monster that will destroy the Nigerian educational system.

Shameful Video : Igbo's Must Learn To Stand Together And Support Thier Brother Especially Peter Obi In The Coming Election.

The trending video of what happened to Gov. Hope Uzodinma at the presidential villa should be an open opener to Gov. Soludo And Engr Dave Umahi.

First for me. I have been searching for reason and explanation why whoever that recorded that video posted it except it was intentionally posted to humiliate Gov Hope and open him to public redicule. Let whoever that recorded it and posted it deny it .

The Trending video over the weekend suggests that Gov. Hope Uzodinma who went to presidential villa for an important meeting of the APC Campaign Council was not allowed to enter the meeting for reason which we don't know yet.

From the footage as attached, Gov. Hope Uzodinma tried opening the door to the venue of the meeting but it was locked and he could not access the meeting room while other Gov.s and members of the campaign council accessed the meeting room.

Infant whoever that recorded that video deliberately went inside the meeting room and covered others discussing with the president and also ended the video with when they started leaving. But unfortunately Gov. Hope Uzodinma who looked angry and frustrated had to leave without attending the meeting.

While the actual report from the presidency and Hope Uzodinma concerning what really happened has not been received but people are already interpreting it and the video is trending. It is purely generating mockery online and an attempt to redicule Gov. Hope by his enemies and the opposition. Something whoever that recorded that video could have avoided.

While I felt sorry for Gov. Hope , Igbo's must learn that the world cannot trust you for betraying or selling your own brother irrespective of whatever promises and offer that is made to you . They will not trust you nor allow you into important discussion because they will feel that if you could betray your own brother then who are they that you cannot betray.

Our elite and politicians must stop all this desperate attempt to sale off their own brother and people, let the elites and politicians stop this desperate attempt to prove important to people who are not rating them high . Igbo's must unite together and avoid people from other region taking us for granted like that the video just portray . The simple question is can whoever recorded that video and posted it do same to a northern Gov. Or South Western Gov.

We must use the forth coming general election to pass a massage that we too also deserve the Presidency and we are not second hand citizens by openly supporting and voting massively for Peter Obi. We have to stand by our own people and find a way to stop the unfair treatment Igbo's are getting in Nigeria.

Singing on your mandate cannot do it . Because in the last 3 years plus . The Igbo's have benefited nothing from the current administration. We have been unfairly treated and our concerns left unattended to . I want to appeal also to those Igbo's mocking Gov. Hope Uzodinma to stop it and stand by him . Whatever happened to him as depicted in that video is humiliating and unnecessary.

Be your brother's keeper.

Reliable source from INEC who spoked to QuickObserver yesterday said they (INEC) are going to obey supreme court order and judgment.

According to the source, they are now removing PDP candidates from contesting 2027 general elections because of membership issues.

Meaning that INEC have removed so many PDP candidates from the north because of double registration and their names not being on the register submitted to INEC.

Right now all eyes 👀 on Rivers State APC governorship candidate O.K Chinda because he also has the same membership issues.
